If Connie survives in Norman Reedus has portrayed Daryl Dixon since The Walking Dead season 1, Connie only ed as part of Magna's group in season 9, never even meeting the great Rick Grimes. Regardless, Daryl and Connie have struck up an endearing emotional bond during their time together. The romantic connection between them is obvious, but as The Walking Dead's ending looms, neither has expressed these feelings aloud.

Daryl Dixon's The Walking Dead future is already assured. When season 11 ends, the crossbow-wielding warrior will embark on an adventure in , likely chasing the origin of the zombie virus. Melissa McBride's Carol was originally his companion, but those plans were scuppered, and The Walking Dead season 11, episode 22, "Faith," wholeheartedly proves Connie should feature in the Daryl Dixon spinoff instead. Not only does Lauren Ridloff's character have a great deal more to offer The Walking Dead - more than the remaining few episodes can accommodate - but "Faith" proves Connie and Daryl's bond is a uniquely compelling element of both characters that The Walking Dead has barely touched upon.

The Walking Dead Season 11 Doesn't Have Time To Pay Off Daryl & Connie's Romance

The Walking Dead has been teasing a love story between Daryl and Connie for almost two entire seasons, but their tale has been plagued by untimely interruptions. Connie became lost in Alpha's horde just long enough for Lauren Ridloff to film Eternals, then more recently found herself captured by the Commonwealth and bound for the enigmatic "Designation 2." On both occasions, Daryl has been visibly delighted to reunite with Connie, but that delight has never materialized into any meaningful character growth on either side.

In The Walking Dead season 11's "Faith," Daryl and Connie are afforded rare time alone, albeit in the not-so-romantic setting of a sewer pipe. Though their interaction is brief and truncated by both the urgency of their mission and the pipe's pungent lurkers, Connie shows she can read Daryl as well as any character in The Walking Dead, while Daryl proves Connie has become one of few characters he feels comfortable being vulnerable around. The Walking Dead season 11 lacks the time to properly unpack this fascinating relationship, but Connie appearing in Daryl Dixon's spinoff can finally do their storyline justice.

Will Connie Survive The Walking Dead Season 11?

Connie (Lauren Ridloff) spreads her arms out goodnaturedly, Daryl (Norman Reedus) watches from behind in The Walking Dead

Including Lauren Ridloff's Connie as a co-star alongside Norman Reedus in The Walking Dead's Daryl Dixon spinoff seems an obvious step. The chemistry between characters is palpable, the storyline foundations have been laid, and Carol's exit creates a vacancy. Eternals also turned Ridloff into a Hollywood star, leaving little logical reason to omit her from future The Walking Dead projects. The biggest obstacle to Connie ing Daryl in Europe, therefore, is her own potential death. The Walking Dead's final season has proven remarkably mild so far, with the lack of major casualties contrasting strangely against the franchise's usual ruthlessness in the arena of big character deaths.

Any character confirmed for a spinoff is currently safe, meaning Negan, Maggie, Daryl, Rick, Michonne and possibly Carol, depending on when her spinoff plans changed, will all survive The Walking Dead season 11. The big-impact characters available for The Walking Dead's climactic chopping block include the likes of Eugene, Rosita and, sure enough, Connie. Even if Connie feels like a too-good-to-refuse addition for Daryl Dixon's spinoff, her death may ultimately provide the motivation and fire for Daryl to leave US shores and head to Europe when The Walking Dead ends.
