MintRocket has revealed the next DLC coming to their underwater adventure title, Dave The Diver, which brings fans out of the Blue Hole and onto dry land within the jungle. The title originally launched on PC in 2023 and later made its way to both PlayStation and Switch. Since then, Dave the Diver has become well-loved thanks to various updates and collaborations, including partnerships with both Godzilla and Dredge.

During The Game Awards 2024, MintRocket showcased the latest trailer for Dave The Diver, which gave fans a small glimpse at what's to come from the latest DLC. While the details are quite sparse at the moment, we do know that Dave is making his way into dense forests and muggy terrain, as the title of the new content is Dave The Diver: In The Jungle. The one-minute trailer showcases the shift from the ocean to a dense jungle, raising questions about the new challenges and content to look forward to.

The newly announced DLC content takes everything fans know about Dave the Diver and brings it into a whole new light. Rather than taking a deep dive into the Blue Hole as they were once used to, players might just traverse the depths of an unforgiving jungle teeming with danger. Though we have no concrete details on what exactly to expect, fans have already begun to theorize. The DLC might allow players to catch new and exotic creatures within the forest, or it could have a new area to dive into that is simply filled with several different fish, and take what fans know from the game and add it to a different biome.

The size of the jungle in the trailer hints that there will be lots of exploration, with new areas to find and possibly new management tasks tied to the jungle environment. There does appear to be a dock at the tip of the jungle, and though diving and fishing might be the main feature of the DLC, it could also mean players can begin fishing on dry land according to some of the fan theories. This new content seems set to change the entirety of the gameplay, compared to previous updates that simply added to the existing game.

A Big Change Can Keep Things From Becoming Stale

A recent Reddit post surfaced after the big reveal, as Tyler827 posted the DLC trailer that was shown during The Game Awards 2024. Fans of the title seem excited about what's to come, while some are a bit disappointed that this is a DLC rather than a spinoff from the original title. Kidkipp states, "I wish it was a sequel. DLCs are tough for me because I usually haven’t played a game for a while, and end-game requires skill and workflow that I’ve forgotten at that point."

This does bring up a valid point, as some players may not have reached the true end-game, making some wonder if this is a requirement to access the latest content. Even if it isn't, how will it be accessed if not through the main story quests? There are a lot of questions at this point, but with the DLC being so far away, those answers will most likely come with time. For now, we can all sit back and relax, and maybe take one more trip into the Blue Hole before possibly getting spotted by a massive tiger in Dave The Diver: In The Jungle.
