Dax Shepard is best known for his long-running role on NBC sitcom Parenthood, but he’s had a long career in both TV and film – here’s where else you may have seen him. Parenthood aired for six seasons between 2010 and 2015 and was loosely inspired by the hit 1989 film of the same name directed by Ron Howard. The movie was previously adapted for the small screen by NBC for a short-lived 1990 sitcom that starred a fresh-faced Leonardo DiCaprio which only ran for a season.
The second TV adaptation of Parenthood was far more successful and was nominated for several Critics’ Choice Television Awards. Dax Shepard played the role of Crosby Braverman, the freewheeling son of patriarch and matriarch Zeek (Craig T. Nelson) and Camille Braverman (Bonnie Bedelia). Shepard even directed a Parenthood season 4 episode – “Keep On Rowing” – that received several glowing reviews from critics and viewers alike.
Dax Shepard starred in many TV shows and films before his Parenthood role. He got his start in the entertainment industry in Ashton Kutcher’s hidden camera prank show Idiocracy and Let’s Go To Prison.
Over the past few years, Shepard turned his hand to feature film directing with the movies Brother’s Justice, King Of The Hill and SuperMansion.
More recently, Shepard teamed back up with Ashton Kutcher via his role as Luke Matthews on comedy web series The Ranch which is set to air the latter half of its fourth and final season on Netflix in 2020. Alongside his role on The Ranch, Dax Shepard is also the star and producer of the ABC sitcom Bless This Mess and currently hosts the Fox game show Spin The Wheel.
