The Day of the Jackal (2024) is a thrilling new crime drama series with a spectacular star-studded cast. When a highly skilled assassin kills a high-profile political figure, a global search for the killer means he becomes one of the most wanted people alive. This limited series from Sky Studios in the UK and Universal reimagines the classic 1973 film, which was in turn adapted from the 1971 novel of the same name by Frederick Forsyth.

While the earlier versions of the story explore historical fantasy with a focus on assassination attempts against Charles de Gaulle, the new series is highly contemporary. Actor: Lashana Lynch was born in Hammersmith, London, England. While Lynch has been acting and appearing in various minor roles since 2007, it took some time for the actress to find her feet in the industry. A decade later, in 2017, Lynch played Rosaline Capulet in Still Star-Crossed, which launched her career and saw her tackle much larger roles. This resulted in the actress being awarded a BAFTA for Best Rising Star in 2022.

Character: Bianca Pullman may not be a criminal mastermind like the Jackal, but she is equally mysterious. As an agent of the leading spy organization in the UK, MI6, Pullman is skilled in combat, espionage, subterfuge, and has intimate knowledge of weapons. However, she also has a life as a mother and wife which she struggles to balance with her dangerous career.

Úrsula Corberó As Nuria

Actor: Úrsula Corberó was born in Sant Pere de Vilamajor, province of Barcelona, Spain. Initially, Corberó made a name for herself appearing in Spanish television. She starred in dozens of shows and films across a wide variety of genres, before having a major break in her career when she starred in Netflix's Money Heist in 2017. Since then, Corberó continues to appear in Spanish language and English speaking shows and films.

Character: While the Jackal and Bianca Pullman lead double lives, there are people waiting at home for both. Despite his dangerous day job, and his intense secrecy, the Jackal has started a family, with Nuria as his wife, and a beautiful baby boy named Carlito. To Nuria, the Jackal is Charles, the loving husband whose work is demanding, but rewarding. However, it's unlikely that Charles is really his name, or how long he can keep his dual life under wraps.

Chukwudi Iwuji As Osita Halcrow

Actor: Chukwudi Iwuji was born in Nigeria, but from the age of 12, he found himself in boarding school in the UK, where he continued to live until he attended Yale University in the US. While he toyed with performing early in his life, it wasn't until the year before he graduated from Yale that he ed a theater group. Upon returning to England, he continued to appear in theater, and went on to have his most significant break recently in 2023, when he played the High Evolutionary in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Character: In The Day of the Jackal, Iwuji plays Osita Halcrow, the superior over Bianca Pullman in MI6. However, it appears that he finds Pullman to be a grating presence, who is more vocal and upfront than he would like. Regardless, he remains an important part of the organization and a close for Pullman throughout her missions.

Lia Williams As Isabel Kirby

Actor: Lia Williams was born in Birkenhead, Cheshire, England. Like many of the other performers listed here, Williams got her start performing in theater, and she found success in London's West End. In of the transition to the screen, Williams' breakout role was in 1991, when she appeared in The Revengers' Comedies and won accolades for her performance. Since then, Williams continues to have a fruitful career, primarily appearing in British TV and film.

Character: Williams plays the strict but fair boss of the MI6 branch where Halcrow and Pullman work outside of London. Isabel Kirby is highly goal-oriented, and despite the quirks or frustrations within her team, Kirby ensures that jobs get done, and quickly. While Halcrow displays some contempt towards Pullman, Kirby appears to be a useful ally, though her patience can only go so far.
