One of the most popular comic book characters since his debut in 1939, Batman is one of the original superheroes. From fighting crime and being a billionaire philanthropist to teaching his adopted children about his mission, his character has covered a lot of ground in the countless stories he has been featured in. That is over eighty years' worth of meme material for fans to work with.
Several of Batman's ing characters, sidekicks and villains alike, are known for their humor. While Batman is traditionally a serious character, even he can crack a joke every now and then.
Some Things Never Change
Any discussion of Batman memes needs to start with this classic scene. It is interesting to note that the original scene was Robin.
The second half of the meme, however, was a from the Batman comics' DC continuity. Meaning: the "real" Batman did slap an adult version of Dick Grayson, aka the former Robin. Batman knocked his tooth out to prove a point about Dick's connection to the Court of Owls. It seems like in both cases there could have been a better way to get his point across.
Batman's Unexpected Hobbies
"I am vengeance. I am the night. I am... surprisingly bad at needlepoint." Everybody needs a hobby, and Batman is no different. This suggests that, at some point, the Caped Crusader tried his hand at needlepoint.
Despite being good with lockpicking, he couldn't quite crack arts and crafts. Of course, Batman's humor has always been a bit dry, so it is possible that he is just messing with this guy.
The Robins Get Payback
Batman trained each version of Robin, so they know how he fights better than pretty much anyone. Dick Grayson, being the oldest former Robin and most faithful to Batman's techniques, is most familiar with his style.
Dick uses that to his and the new Robin's advantage when Batman is training with his son and protégé, Damian. The Robins finally get a chance to repay Batman for that slap and land a good punch. What goes around comes around.
Alfred's Sass
Alfred is one of Batman's most hilarious characters, but readers have to pay close attention. Most of his humor is conveyed in sassy comments or side glances. No matter the incarnation, Alfred is a sass master. He has been doing this job for a long time, so he has a lot of experience.
Knowing that Batman wouldn't take the time to eat dinner before he left, Alfred didn't bother bringing anything to him. He makes a point, though, to "throw away" the nothing that he worked very hard on and show Batman how inconsiderate he is being.
The Family Business
Batman trained his children, sidekicks, and protégés to have his moral code, but not all of them choose to abide by it. While Dick Grayson - the former Robin - Red Hood, Damien Wayne - the Robin at the time, and another character stocking up on weapons.
Jason and Damien both do not like to abide by Batman's "no kill" rule. The conflict in methods for dealing with criminals has gotten them both in trouble with Batman repeatedly.
Batman Is A Model of Mental Health
Everyone has their own method of dealing with trauma, and Lord knows that Bruce Wayne has suffered a lot of it. Bruce Wayne's coping mechanism just happens to be putting on a Kevlar bat suit and fighting crime.
In this , Batman seems to be running through Arkham Asylum, the infamous mental hospital slash prison. It is unclear who he is trying to convince of his sanity - probably himself.
Batman's Doing His Best
Bruce Wayne had a plan to clean up his city. He was going to dress like a bat. Then, he was going to stalk people at night. Finally, he was going to beat up criminals in alleys until they feared him.
Somewhere along the way, he accidentally adopted roughly six children to him in his crime-fighting crusade. At this point, he has just about lost count, but as long as they have a tragic backstory and a fiery personality, they make a good addition to his family.
Batman's Trusty Utility Belt
The 1960's Batman television show with Adam West as Batman and Burt Ward as Robin was notorious for always having the right tool to get the Dynamic Duo out of a tough spot. Almost everything they needed could be found on their handy utility belts. Every notable incarnation of the character has featured some version of the belt.
Batman always seems to have what he needs for a mission contained within his belt pouches. One may be tempted to ask, "Is there anything the belt can't do?" According to DC, there is one thing.
Scarecrow Sending A Message
Batman has Scarecrow could have the potential to be one of the most fearsome foes in Batman's repertoire.
Unfortunately for him, Batman has made an antidote that neutralizes his toxin and, therefore, pretty much destroys Scarecrow's only offensive move. Batman is also capable of resisting the toxin's effects by his willpower and due to being dosed with the gas repeatedly.
Bat-Cow
Move over Ace the Bat-Hound, the next Batman film to feature a sidekick should introduce the Bat-Cow. Wayne Manor has plenty of grass for a cow to graze and Batman loves adopting additional family . His son, Damian, loves stray animals. This is how Batman came to be in possession of a cow with a bat-shaped mark on its forehead.
Damian rescued the cow from a slaughterhouse and became a vegetarian in honor of it. Having a cow is fortunate for them, seeing as Batman is such a big fan of chocolate milk.
