A new DC film might be announced during trying to replicate the Marvel Cinematic Universe model, DC has recently found success in making strong standalone films without worrying about how they connect to one another. After a string of successful films, DC is set to bring a unique experience to fans. With San Diego Comic-Con not happening this year, the company has instead announced plans for an online-only event filled with stars, news, and surprises.
DC FanDome will cover all areas of DC entertainment, with TV shows, video games, and comics getting attention in addition to the full line-up of DC movies that will be present. Aquaman - which could tease the installments of those franchises.
Even with all of these DC movies having a presence at DC FanDome, there are rumors that another new movie or two will be announced. The schedule for DC FanDome is almost completely filled out, but some spots are reserved for secret s in the Hall of Heroes (where all of the movie s will air) section of the event. This has led to some speculation that DC will confirm some new movies fans will get to see at some point.
Over the years, Warner Bros. and DC Films have started development on more than two dozen movies, with more rumored to be in consideration all the time. However, they've only officially announced films through the end of 2022. If DC is planning to confirm plans for a new movie or two during DC FanDome, then what could it be? Here are some of our predictions for films they could announce.
New Gods
Looking at the list of DC movies in the works that haven't been officially announced, Ava DuVernay was hired to direct the movie in 2018 and has been working on the film ever since. New Gods will put DuVernay's take on the Jack Kirby creations. She has spent the last year working on the script with DC Comics writer Tom King, and they've confirmed in recent months that they're still busy with it. New Gods is the only DC movie actively being developed that has a director and writer but no release date, but DC FanDome would be a great opportunity to change that. And, it would finally be a sign that the DCEU is gearing up to explore the cosmos to some degree.
New Harley Quinn Movie
Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn is one of the DCEU's biggest stars, so DC FanDome could bring the announcement of her next movie. Robbie is already confirmed to participate in the event for The Suicide Squad's , so she may have also filmed a to announce which movie Harley will return in after. There are a few different options for a possible Harley movie announcement too.
She was last seen in what could happen next for Harley Quinn already and the star even stated she wanted to do the movie after Birds of Prey, so the long-awaited announcement could come now. Suicide Squad's David Ayer is attached to direct the project if it happens.
Batgirl
Warner Bros. has been developing a his Batman could appear in Batgirl next.
Wonder Woman 3
We already know that Wonder Woman 1984 will have a massive presence at DC FanDome, and this could be the perfect time to confirm that tease a modern-day story and other details that don't give away what happens in Wonder Woman 1984.
Justice Society of America
There are no reports that a Justice Society of America movie is in development, but DC FanDome could still bring such a surprise announcement. Dwayne Johnson has already confirmed that the JSA will be introduced in Black Adam, with Noah Centineo set to play Atom Smasher. The other cast who will play the rest of the JSA could be announced during the Black Adam . If a stellar cast is assembled for Black Adam, DC could then reveal that they will forces again in a spinoff movie. This would mark a truly surprising announcement for DC FanDome because a JSA film hasn't been rumored already. But, the confirmation of this movie would not only give DC fans a new film to look forward to but also add another reason to be excited for Black Adam and the team's introduction.
