John Stewart and Guy Gardner Talk about John Leaving the Green Lanterns DC

Despite leaving the Green Lantern Corps, John Stewart was thrown back into action when the DC Universe was invaded by the Radiant Dead. Faced with the prospect of an army of undead monsters assimilating anything they came into with, John teamed up with Shepherd to stop the Radiant Dead from extinguishing the Green Light of Willpower. Stewart and Shepherd were making headway on their quest until they came across the Revenant Queen, who revealed that the Radiant Dead were just fractions of Olgrun's power and that the Old God had come to claim Green Lantern as his vessel.

Guy is the only Lantern John has been in with since the Corps was taken over by the United Planets

Hearing that John trusts Guy more than any other Green Lantern might sound odd, but it's not unbelievable. The two have known one another for years and Guy is the only Lantern John has been in with since the Corps was taken over by the United Planets. Shepherd also personally knew the Guy and John from Shepherd's home dimension and the duo's variants were quite similar to the Prime John and Guy and were likely as close. Guy Gardner might be seen by many as a jerk, but he's trusted by the most powerful Green Lantern around.

Green Lantern Proves Guy Gardner's Haters Wrong

In both his roles in the Green Lantern Corps and the Justice League, Guy is often seen as brash, egotistical, and frankly, a jerk. But John, someone who many see as a reliable and courageous hero, knows Guy's character better than most. If Stewart is willing to trust Gardner more than most of their comrades in the Corps, then that's a solid endorsement if there ever was one. Sure, Guy can be overconfident, but the Green Lanterns's closest allies know that behind his massive ego is a hero who has earned his place on DC's greatest hero teams, including the Justice League.
