In an tie-in issue to Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's Darkest Knight and the 52 dark Earths he's created. In a new preview from DC Comics, one of the first stories teased will feature Wonder Woman and her fight with the former Batman Who Laughs, promising an epic battle ahead.

Dark Nights: Death Metal: The Last 52 - War of the Multiverses #1 will feature nine stories in total, all of which will take place during the massive war being waged that's united all the heroes and villain of the prime Earth, doing all they can to defeat the Darkest Knight and his legions once and for all. This collection will be very similar to the previously released one-shot The Last Stories of The DC Universe: each story will focus on a particular hero or villains like the aforementioned Wonder Woman, as well as others such as Batman, Superman, Swamp Thing, Penguin, and more. Some of the creatives included are big names such as lead Death Metal writer Scott Snyder, as well as Joshua Williamson, James Tynion IV, Matthew Rosenberg, and many more. The one-shot will also feature some impressive cover art from Dan Mora, as well as an equally stunning variant cover from Gary Frank and Brad Anderson.

The first story that's teased in the preview from DC Comics is one featuring Wonder Woman entitled, "Fight!" which will have Wonder Woman taking the Darkest Knight head-on. This story should prove to be especially interesting considering Princess Diana's actions in Death Metal #6. That issue saw Wonder Woman arming herself with the Truth itself thanks to the Forge of Worlds, and she's now ready to end the former Batman Who Laughs with her new power. Since he's betrayed and killed Perpetua, the Darkest Knight believes that he's become a god, completely unopposed and free to reshape all realities and worlds in his own image. However, Wonder Woman has become a conduit for Anti-Crisis Energy and the truth of everything and is now the DC Multiverse's best chance at getting free from the Knight's control. This story from the issue will no doubt see their duel rage on in spectacular fashion as Wonder Woman's allies and the Darkest Knight's evil Batmen rage below their massive and powerful forms.

As Dark Nights: Death Metal nears its conclusion, the final pieces are coming into place, and Dark Nights: Death Metal: The Last 52- War of the Multiverses #1 is going to be a big chapter that DC fans won't want to even think about missing. The war has begun, and the entire DC Multiverse hangs in the balance, promising a large status quo change going forward for DC Comics, with large consequences being carried into its future.
