Spoilers for Flashpoint Beyond #6 by DC Comics

DC's new Doctor Manhattan has been referenced once again, as the character known as Clark, last seen in Doomsday Clock getting the powers of the powerful Watchmen character, is teased at the end of Flashpoint Beyond. In the finale of the recent miniseries, the mention of the "Harlequinn's Son" appears to be a clear hint that the biological son of Mime and Marionette is set to return soon to the DC Universe.

Doctor Manhattan is the most powerful character in the Watchmen universe, who was made DC Comics canon in Geoff Johns and Gary Frank's Doomsday Clock series. In the continuation of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbon's iconic Watchmen series, Doctor Manhattan restored the DC Universe before fading away and transferring his incredible powers to a young boy he helped raise, Clark, the biological son of the villains Mime and Marionette. After giving the youngster his powers and disappearing from existence, Clark arrived at the doorstep of Silk Spectre and Owlman. Since his last appearance in Doomsday Clock #12, Clark hasn't been seen. But, in Flashpoint Beyond #6, there's a strong hint DC's new Doctor Manhattan will soon return.

In Flashpoint Beyond #6 by Geoff Johns, Tim Sheridan, Jeremy Adams, Mikel Janin, Gary Frank, Romulo Fajardo Jr., Jordie Bellaire, Brad Anderson, and Rob Leigh from DC Comics, the Flashpoint universe is kept alive in a snow globe as the Timemasters realize it doesn't need to be destroyed to correct the timeline. Afterward, Rip Hunter is asked about the "Thirteen" time capsules that have seemingly been separated but pulled back into history. Hunter says history is rebuilding around them as thirteen capsules, including one referred to as "The Harlequin's son," is revealed - which hints at the return of Clark, DC's new Doctor Manhattan.

DC Could Be Setting Up The Next Watchmen

DC's New Doctor Manhattan Comics

"The Harlequins' Son" is an apparent reference to Ozymandias, a new generation of Watchmen characters may be coming to DC canon.

Considering the nearly four-year wait to see any follow-up on DC's new Doctor Manhattan's place in the universe, seeing Clark teased at the end of Flashpoint Beyond potentially sets up his long-awaited return. If the time capsules make him canon in the DC Universe, readers can expect a powerful yet inexperienced new Doctor Manhattan to arrive in the world very soon.
