Warning: Spoilers for Justice League Incarnate #3!

In the world of comics, Darkseid, has shown that Violator could easily take him out without breaking a sweat. Good thing Violator is Spawn’s problem though because Darkseid would constantly be shaking in his oversized boots if these two were living in the same universe.

Shown in Justice League Incarnate #3, by Joshua Williamson, Dennis Culver, and a rotating crew of artists, the multiversal Justice League team consisting of President Superman, Flashpoint Batman, Captain Carrot, Doctor Multiverse, and more, have their hands full as they do their best to find the crack in the multiverse before Darkseid does. Meanwhile, the Dark God himself patiently waits in the wings to strike when it suits him best, something that has become a problem for the team as he's recently reached his ultimate, nigh-omnipotent form.

Stuck on Earth-41 where the crack in the multiverse resides for the moment, Captain Carrot is told by of the Nimrod Squad that Darkseid isn’t the only one looking to harness the power of the fractured multiverse. Mentioning that a being called The Annihilator also wants this power for himself, it's revealed that they’ll need a whole slew of superpowered heroes to take this baddie down; a feat made even harder to accomplish as this enemy is clearly meant to be a version of the powerful Spawn villain, Violator.

Darkseid fights Annihilator

Seen at the end of the issue when Captain Carrot and his crew are protecting the crack from being misused, Annihilator is shown in all of his ugly — and legally distinct — glory as he lays the smackdown on these heroes. Colored red instead of gray, but still similarly horned and modeled after Violator, Annihilator takes Captain Carrot to task and is able to successfully stand his ground when Darkseid enters the fray. Saying, “Impossible! I will not fall to you, vermin!” Darkseid is nearly overwhelmed by Annihilator and is only defeated when Doctor Multiverse takes the power of the multiversal crack for her own, banishing Annihilator for the moment, but not before it’s proven that this Spawn villain could totally kill Darkseid should he ever get the chance.

Acting as the monstrous version of The Clown from Spawn lore, Violator is a powerful villain in his own right as he has immense strength, can shapeshift, possess others, and breathe fire -- all qualities that would give Darkseid a run for his money even before being granted cosmic power in DC’s multiverse. And given how often DC loves to show Thanos lookalikes easily losing to Darkseid in comics past, the fact that DC Comics is willing to show that their version of Violator can stand toe-to-toe with an overpowered god says a lot about how much the company respects Spawn’s ultimate nemesis and his impact on the comic industry as a whole.

So despite the inability to truly have this Spawn villain pop up in the pages of a DC comic anytime soon (he is an Image Comics baddie after all) Darkseid still needs to watch his back in case this multiversal doppelgänger comes after him again. And although the real Violator could potentially kill Darkseid should they ever truly meet, this is one battle that fans will have to imagine happening on their own, at least for now.
