The best superhero shows offer a rich variety of characters who make it fun and intriguing to watch the shows. The relatively new animated Harley Quinn is no exception. It focuses on Harley and her crew of villains who go on to take on control of Gotham.

Its eccentric characters are one of the great things about the show, and each of them is a bit different. Let's find out Hogwarts houses for 10 of Harley Quinn characters. Would your favorite hero belong in Slytherin, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, or Hufflepuff?

Kite Man: Hufflepuff

Kite Man is a D-list villain at best who never made it into the Legion of Doom. He forms a romantic relationship with Poison Ivy and would do anything for her, even if it means endangering his life or getting injured.

Kite Man might not be the sharpest tool in the box but his loyalty to Ivy and the patience with which he awaited her answer to his proposal make him a Hufflepuff.

Commissioner James Gordon: Gryffindor

Commissioner James Gordon often works with Batman and helps him to protect Gotham. He also likes the caped crusader and considers him the best friend he has. Gordon has his errors, such as his inability to make his relationship with his wife work, but he's still a good enough man to make it into Gryffindor.

He's brave, just like Gryffindor students are, since working in Gotham, a city ridden with crime, as a policeman, requires a lot of courage.

Batgirl: Gryffindor

Harley Quinn Batgirl Barbara Gordon

Barbara Gordon aka Batgirl is her father's daughter, meaning she shares his bravery and willingness to do everything it takes to help her beloved city and people who need it. She's also less jaded than her dad and willing to take more risks thanks to her youth.

She has a warm heart, like people in Gryffindor often do, and is quick to make friends, even with people she shouldn't act so friendly towards (such as Harley and Ivy who stand on the opposite side of the law).

Batman: Slytherin

Slytherin might be known as the house of many evil wizards but not all Slytherin students go on to hurt people. Batman has the character traits typical for Slytherin. He's cunning, a good leader, resourceful, resilient, and ambitious. Batman has been protecting Gotham and fighting its villains for a long time.

He learned how to fight or solve his way even out of the most dangerous situations and his sharp and cunning mind makes him a truly dangerous opponent to anybody who crosses the law. And let's not all forget his resilience (stubbornness, if you'd like) which drives Batman to keep trying even though lesser men would have given up the cape a long time ago.

Joker: Slytherin

It doesn't really come as a surprise that Batman's biggest archnemesis also belongs to Slytherin. After all, these two might be opposite sides of the same coin, but they share the same traits. The difference is how they use them.

Joker is highly resilient, no matter how many times someone seems to stop him, he always comes back to continue his life. He's also cunning and dangerous, able to devise many plans on how to get what he wants. Just how he built his tower, killed Poison Ivy (albeit temporarily), and destroyed the Legion of Doom, all in one day.

Doctor Psycho: Hufflepuff

This one might come as a surprise. Doctor Psycho isn't stupid, not by a long shot, but he's not as cold and analytic as Slytherins and not as smart as people from Ravenclaw since he sometimes lets his emotions take the best of him (like when he almost let Riddler escape).

So Hufflepuff it is. No matter how bad Doctor Psycho might seem, he values hard work just like Hufflepuff students do, and does his best to be taken seriously as a villain.

Catwoman: Slytherin

There's no other Hogwarts house villains, she still comes out on top.

Catwoman has a free spirit like Slytherin students do, and whatever she wants, she also takes, making her a truly formidable villain, or an antihero, if you'd like.

King Shark: Hufflepuff

Harley Quinn DC Universe King Shark

King Shark might look frightening but he's actually a big softie in his heart. He's loyal to his friends and takes it badly when they do something he considers a betrayal.

Like the time Harley went out to see the Joker, to try and rekindle their partnership, rather than help him and the rest of her crew. King Shark could also potentially be in Gryffindor but he's not as brave as them and sometimes panics in stressful situations so much that Harley or other character has to break him out of it.

Poison Ivy: Ravenclaw

Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy talk in the Harley Quinn animated series.

Poison Ivy is the most sensible member of Harley's group of misfits and also the only one who is able to lead a somewhat normal relationship. Ivy is smarter than many people give her credit for. She's certainly smart enough to stay in the background and not to draw too much attention to herself, so even though she could be in the Legion of Doom, she doesn't see the need to the flashy group.

She's also never afraid to call Harley out when her best friend is making a mistake or acting in a silly way. Probably no-one can forget the time when Ivy finally made Harley see that Joker was just using her.

Harley Quinn: Slytherin

Harley Quinn's house is the most difficult to pick since she has strong traits typical for all the four houses. She's brave, intelligent, loyal... But she probably fits into Slytherin the most. Slytherins make strong leaders, and while Harley sometimes missteps and makes a mistake when leading her crew, she usually makes up for it and comes up with a solution.

She's cunning and smart, two facts people sometimes forget thanks to her demeanor but make no mistake - Harley is just as dangerous as her ex-boyfriend, if not more.
