Batman has had poor luck when it comes to the women in his life. They are either bland damsels in distress, villains, or are so morally gray that it creates a toxic relationship. For a man whose life is so filled with darkness and misery, he deserves at least one decent romance.
Bruce Timm and Paul Dini seem to agree with this notion, which is why, in the DC Animated Universe, they would brew the relationship between Batman and Wonder Woman. Fans would label this relationship as Wonderbat, and it would lead to some of the cutest moments across Justice League and Justice League Unlimited.

Beginning with Batman: The Animated Series, the DC Animated Universe has gone on to spawn multiple spin-offs including Superman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond, Static Shock, Justice League, and Justice League Unlimited. This universe of DC adventures is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.
One of the best aspects of this universe was the inclusion of the romance between Batman and Wonder Woman in the two Justice League shows. It was slowly built up across the shows but always resulted in many great moments. With the sad ing of Kevin Conroy, now seems to be the right time to reflect on the best moments between him and Susan Eisenberg's Diana Prince.
Nobody Slaps Diana
Justice League (Season 2, Episode 1)
In a more subtle moment of the episode Twilight, Batman and Wonder Woman make it to New Genesis in search of Orion. It's here that they meet Lightray, who rudely taunts the two heroes before assaulting Wonder Woman by slapping her butt. Diana comments that he's worse than the Flash, leading to a chase.
Though Batman never makes any comments about it, Batman does not hesitate to take down Lightray using his cape. It's Batman's more subtle way of punishing the cocky New God for over-crossing a personal boundary.
Diana's Kiddy Crush
Justice League Unlimited (Season 1, Episode 5)
Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman have all been transformed into elementary grade-age kids to take on a bratty immortal child villain. If that's not funny enough, they all begin to exhibit child-like personality traits, including Diana AKA Wonder Girl.
Wonder Girl begins to act all cute and googly-eyed for Batboy, which is actually not that strange compared to her romances in the comics. Not only does it look cute, but the voice actors portraying younger versions of these characters do a spot-on job. It's impossible not to smile at the cuteness of them both, especially when Batboy is trying so hard to be serious.
"She's Standing Behind Me, Isn't She?"
Justice League Unlimited (Season 1, Episode 12)
Batman is the DC universe's greatest strategist, yet somehow he has no idea how to backtrack. In The Once And Future Thing Part One, Batman and John Stewart AKA Green Lantern are enjoying a break on the Watchtower when John asks Batman about him and Diana.
Of course, Batman, being a stick in the mud, is quick to say nothing is happening. Batman could have left it at that, but he decides to list all the ways the two are "just friends." Unfortunately, Batman realizes that Diana is standing right behind him, so the Amazonian Princess toys with him by suggesting that he keeps digging. It's just adorable to see Batman attempt to deny his feelings.
Stakeout Or Going Out?
Justice League Unlimited (Season 1, Episode 5)
Stuck on a rooftop waiting for something to happen? Not really the style of Wonder Woman, but she's sticking through it on a case with Batman. That alone is already cute, but then she decides to flirt with the big bad bat. Batman just decides to list all the ways their relationship wouldn't work.
Batman calling himself a rich kid with issues is already hilarious, but it's obvious he likes Diana. In a way, it's a bit sad because, at this point, Bruce deserves a good relationship, but obviously, he's scared to lose anyone he cares about, which only makes his character arc in the episode even better.
Wonder Girl Saves Batboy
Justice League Unlimited (Season 1, Episode 3)
During a battle with the evil Mordred's creations, Batman (or Batboy) is rendered useless against one. So Wonder Girl destroys the monster before catching Batboy in her arms, in a bit of the reverse of the damsel in distress trope.
Of course, being a young boy, he does not take being saved by a girl well. Diana asks if he's okay, and he is quick to squirm out of her arms and sulk away. It's just more proof that these two would have been perfect for each other growing up.
Visiting Superman
Justice League Unlimited (Season 1, Episode 2)
Who better than Batman and Wonder Woman to come and visit Superman on his birthday? The episode For The Man Who Has Everything, which is often considered one of the best episodes of the series, could have easily just started with Batman and Wonder Woman arriving separately. Instead, they arrive together via Wonder Woman's invisible jet.
From the moment the episode starts on the said invisible jet, Wonder Woman teases Batman, and they continue to banter inside the Fortress Of Solitude. Their entire dynamic in the prologue is identical to a married couple on a trip to see a friend or family member.
Saved By A Dance
Justice League (Season 2, Episode 7)
In Paris, Diana ends up getting overwhelmed by the press due to her public identity. However, a familiar suave voice can be heard offering her a chance to dance: Bruce Wayne. Bruce Wayne blatantly steals James Bond's famous one-liner, saying he's "Wayne, Bruce Wayne." The two have a nice dance together. The best part about this scene is when mercenaries attack.
Rather than Batman and Wonder Woman working together, Wonder Woman handles things easily, allowing Bruce to watch while eating some finger food. Their dance is brought up again at the end of the episode when Wonder Woman essentially calls out that Batman is Bruce Wayne.
Finishing The Dance
Justice League (Season 2, Episode 8)
Typically, Bruce is under the impression that everyone is fooled by his secret identity, but the wise warrior princess was able to figure it out. At the end of the Maid Of Honor arc, Diana tells Batman that they never got to finish the aforementioned dance.
In a very typical response, Batman tries to say that he has no idea what she is talking about. Diana has none of that, takes his hand, and forces him to her as they go off to finish their dance. This is yet another example of Batman being rather childish in how he handles his emotions, but Diana always manages to pierce his cold shell.
Undercover Kiss
Justice League (Season 2, Episode 25)
During the three-part finale of Justice League, Bruce Wayne and Diana Prince seek shelter in a restaurant from the Thanagarians. To blend in, Diana kisses Bruce.
The Thanagarians leave and Diana apologizes for her actions. Bruce is far from displeased, so he tells her not to be sorry with a smirk on his face. This would be the first time Batman and Wonder Woman kissed in the series, and after so much build-up between them, every fan can't help but smile for them.
Batman's Serenade
Justice League Unlimited (Season 1, Episode 5)
With Wonder Woman in danger in the form of a pig, Batman, with Zatanna's help, makes a deal with Circe. Circe wants something from Batman, and it fades to black. Fans are expecting Batman to expose his identity or serve Circe in some way; but instead, Batman delivers one of the most famous moments of the series.
Kevin Conroy sings a delightful cover of "Am I Blue" by Ray Charles. Not only is it a great cover, but it showcased how talented Kevin Conroy is as an artist. It works, and Wonder Woman is restored to her human form, but things don't end there.
