It's safe to say that the Justice League movie was a complete disaster. It was two completely different films Frankensteined together, with tons of issues to mention. However, the DCEU is in a much healthier place than was when Justice League came out, is a part 2 of the movie still feasible? Let's take a look and find out.
Do: The DCEU's Focus
DC Films are honestly, good, at this point. After a few major shakeups at the studio, you can now pretty much assume that DC Films are going to be fun experiences, with Birds of Prey being the newest examples of this. If a Justice Leauge 2 were to be produced, it could generally be assumed that the studio would take care to make a film that is actually worth going to see this time around.
Don't: The First Justice League
Still, even bringing together six of DC's most iconic heroes couldn't make Justice League a good film. It was a trainwreck, to put it lightly. At this point, is it even worth pursuing a sequel to a movie that bombed the way that Justice League did? It seems like it might not be worth the trouble.
Do: Bringing In New Heroes
Still, Justice League is a team-up movie, so it stands to reason that if a sequel were to happen, we could get be introduced to even more DC heroes, especially considering the fact that the Hall of Justice was built at the end of the first movie.
This is one of the biggest plusses that we could get out of a sequel, and would make the movie a ton of fun for fans of the DC Universe.
Don't: The Universe Is A Mess
The DC Universe is an absolute disaster at this point, we all know this. Actors are getting swapped out left and right, things are getting retconned, nothing is safe. With that in mind, it could be a good idea to keep the movies separate, which has been the DCEU's motto since Justice League failed. Trying to fit all of these plot holes into a single movie could be a complete disaster.
Do: The Universe Is A Mess
Then again, it might be a smart idea to tie all of these inconsistencies together into a single video in order to tie it all up and move on. This might be able to make the situation a bit more understandable, and, while it might be hard for audiences to wrap their heads around it, there are a few clever ways that this could be handled that we'll get into a bit later.
Don't: Trying To Explain Everything At Once
Then again, at this point, it is just too much. Trying to explain an entirely new universe in a Justice League sequel just sounds like it's going to end up as a boring film that exists solely for that world-building.
This is a task that would be more suited to happen over a series of films. Although, there is one movie that could actually shoulder most of the work by itself...
Do: Post Flashpoint
The Flash's solo film seems to be a Flashpoint story, which, to make a long story short, can basically rewrite the DCEU universe without much hassle, that's essentially what the Flash can do when he puts on his speedy boy pants. This would be an easy way to get the universe sorted out before jumping into any sort of a Justice League Part 2.
Don't: Too Much Baggage
Though, once again, there's just so much baggage to a situation like this that this also doesn't seem like a good idea. It would just be disingenuous to audiences to just... restart, especially in an era of the MCU, where everything is planned out years ahead of time. Here's the deal, Justice League Part 2 can happen, but it has to be in a very different way than what this list has described so far.
Do: A New Version
Justice Leauge Part 2 can happen years from now, when things are set in stone, and we have a universe that makes sense. Also, it shouldn't be called Part 2. If the film is going to happen, it needs to be a brand new thing entirely. If the DCEU is going to be reconnected in a way that makes sense, it's going to take a few films to really make it all work. Then, we can have another team-up movie.
The Verdict: Well, Sort Of
With all things considered, a Justice League sequel would be tons of fun, and a pleasure for fans to watch. However, it's just something that's going to take some proper set-up. Jumping into a sequel now would just be disastrous, and wouldn't help the DC Films brand at all. Still, set it up with more solo films, and we'll be in a good place for the sequel. We'll get there.
