  • David Corenswet's physical transformation as Superman was revealed through a workout image shared by his trainer.
  • Corenswet's muscular physique is comparable to Henry Cavill's Superman, establishing him as a physically imposing Superman.

The first look at David Corenswet as the lead hero in James Gunn's David Corenswet's Superman did not come through set photos. Corenswet went through quite the workout routine to achieve his Superman look, and a new photo spotlights his physical journey.

On Instagram, the personal trainer of the Superman cast, Paolo Mascitti, shared a workout image of Corenswet showing off his Superman physique.

Corenswet has clearly bulked up for the role, with the actor flexing his new Superman muscles in the workout image. Mascitti had previously shared the physical transformations that other actors in the Superman cast had gone through, including Mr. Terrific actor Edi Gathegi and The Engineer star María Gabriela de Faría. Corenswet's physique is bound to be compared to that of other Superman actors.

How David Corenswet’s Superman Physique Compares To Other Clark Kent Actors

Henry Cavill Was The Latest Superman Movie Star

As his workout photo clearly shows, Corenswet has packed on a lot of muscle to portray DC's Man of Steel. The actor's physique is most akin to the latest actor to don the Superman mantle in theaters. Corenswet has been compared to the DCEU Superman actor Henry Cavill since he was first announced to be on the run for the DCU Superman role. However, this new workout image cements that comparison, as no other Superman actor has bulked up as much as the two.

Corenswet, however, has an advantage over Cavill, as the DCU Superman is a few inches taller than the DCEU star. Corenswet stands at 6'4'', while Cavill's height reaches the 6'1'' mark. As one of the two tallest actors to have ever played the Man of Steel in live-action and looking very similar to Cavill's impressive Superman physique, there is a chance that throughout Gunn's Superman and his future DCU appearances, Corenswet will cement himself as the most physically imposing Superman star yet.

Corenswet's physique is also impressive due to him sharing the record for the tallest Superman actor with perhaps the very best to ever play the role. Christopher Reeve was also 6'4'', just like Corenswet. However, different from the DCU's Man of Steel, Reeve always sported a leaner look during his four movies as Superman. Other impressive Superman actors in the physical department include Superman Returns' Brandon Routh, who looked even bigger in the Arrowverse's Crisis on Infinite Earths than in his solo film, and Smallville's Tom Welling. Corenswet's Superman debuts next year.
