ever-growing lineup of characters. Over the years, the game has seen classic horror icons such as Halloween's Michael Myers, Stranger Things' Demogorgon, and, most recently, Silent Hill's Pyramid Head drawn into the realm of The Entity alongside Behaviour Interactive's own unique designs.
With its rise in popularity, Dead by Daylight is now available on all current and next-gen consoles, along with a large player base on each system thanks in part to constant from the developers. The last two major expansions for the game, Descend Beyond and A Binding of Kin, featured original character designs from the studio in the form of The Blight and Felix Richter in the former, and The Twins and Élodie Rakoto in the latter. Following these additions, fans were expecting a new licensed chapter for the game as the reveal date grew closer and closer. It was eventually revealed, however, that this would instead be another original release for the game when the characters were officially announced by Behaviour.
The newest chapter, more content for the Stranger Things chapter in an update last month.
According to Behaviour, the name of the chapter, All-Kill, is a reference to the phenomenon of the same name when a group’s song or album takes the top spot of all eight Korean music charts at the same time. Aside from the new characters, Behaviour Interactive has also recently implemented several improvements to the content already in the game, reworking maps and characters to bring them up to date along with the addition of much-requested accessibility options for colorblind players. With more content and updates planned for 2021, it's already shaping up to be another packed year for Dead by Daylight fans.
Dead by Daylight is succeeding where so many other asymmetrical multiplayer games have failed thanks in part to the constant from developers and content releases from popular franchises. It's encouraging to see how much the game has grown since its original release back in 2016 along with its fanbase. Seeing the roaps and plans for the game's future content, it's hard to imagine the flow of content ever stopping. With the presence of several iconic characters giving way to endless crossover potential, it looks like anything is possible for this horror title down the line.
