A third Deadpool 3 without ruining the movie – here’s how. After a not-so-good debut in X-Men Origins: Wolverine back in 2009, Wade Wilson a.k.a. Deadpool was given a second chance with a solo movie, released in 2016 and with Ryan Reynolds reprising his role as the “merc with a mouth”.
Disney/Fox merger was completed.
The merger means that Deadpool is now part of Disney’s catalogue of Marvel characters and can the Deadpool 3 a PG-13 movie without messing with the character’s essence, and the key to that is in how they decide to approach censorship. Deadpool is not shy when it comes to profanity, but Disney wouldn’t allow that, so a way to keep it without messing with the Mouse House’s rules would be by bleeping or black-barring curse words – and as he’s self-aware and loves to break the fourth wall, this could be a point of contention for him, and could discuss it directly with the audience.
Cutting off curse words is not new for Disney, especially with its superhero movies: Deadpool sees and does vs what the audience gets to see – and once more, Deadpool’s self-awareness will be what keeps this afloat.
The future of Deadpool and his third movie is a mystery, to the point where not even his creator is keeping the faith about it, but if Disney does decide to move forward with it (as part of the MCU or not), there are many ways they can respect the style and tone of the previous movies and still keep it under their “suitable for everyone” standards – they just have to get creative.
