Deadpool & Wolverine: Release Date, Story, Trailer & Everything We Know
Marvel Studios is making Deadpool 3 as part of the MCU. Here's everything we know about the R-rated sequel starring Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson.
What The Deadpool & Wolverine Title Means
Even though he may not appear fully in the Deadpool & Wolverine trailer, Jackman's Logan will indeed be a major player in the threequel. The fact that they revealed the title to be Deadpool & Wolverine is in line with how they've been framing the movie since the actors made the initial announcement that Jackman was coming back. The title itself indicates Wade and Logan having to forces as they tackle this multiverse conundrum.
Ultimately, this may be Deadpool's trilogy finale, but it is the Deadpool & Wolverine team-up that many have been waiting to see for over a decade. Out of all the X-Men movie characters, Wolverine is the one Marvel is investing just as much time into as Deadpool ahead of their MCU debuts. The only reason they are likely hiding Logan as much as they are is because they don't want to give away too much about how Deadpool & Wolverine is bringing back Jackman.
Is Deadpool & Wolverine The Final Title For Deadpool 3?
Whether Deadpool & Wolverine will stay the final title for Wade's trilogy finale remains to be seen. Given the absurdity that comes with the Deadpool movies, it wouldn't be shocking if future trailers or TV spots make quips at a potential title change leading up to Deadpool & Wolverine's theatrical release. However, given the strong marketing aspects that come with a title like Deadpool & Wolverine, the movie's name will most likely not be changed. Still, that may not stop Reynolds (whether as himself or in character) from having fun with the MCU audience along the way. That would also fit with the chaotic marketing campaign of Deadpool's fellow fourth-wall breaking character, Agatha Harkness, whose spin-off has gone through 3 titles already.
Agatha: Darkhold Diaries was previously known as Agatha: House of Harkness and Agatha: Coven Of Chaos.
Hugh Jackman immediately took the opportunity to further his comical "feud" with Ryan Reynolds after the release of the trailer to add weight to the suggestion that Deadpool & Wolverine may not be the final trailer. He posted on social media to offer his own Wolverine-approved title for the crossover. It probably won't be this though...
