The first round of Deadpool & Wolverine reactions have arrived as critics give their early thoughts on the the current Marvel timeline, with Deadpool & Wolverine exploring his exit from 20th Century Fox's X-Men universe. However, as Wade tackles the multiverse, he will be ing forces with Hugh Jackman's new version of Wolverine, marking the first time since 2017's Logan that the Australian actor returns to the franchise.
Deadpool & Wolverine is finally releasing this week as Marvel Studios' only MCU movie outing for 2024. As with any Hollywood blockbuster, several of the press have been able to see it in advance. Check out several reactions below:
Screen Rant's Molly Freeman mentioned how she "haven’t heard that many people cheering and reacting in a movie—not just a Marvel move, but ANY movie—since Endgame," praising how it works "for every kind of MCU fan, from casual to diehard," while also sharing love for Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman's screen presence, calling it "PERFECT."
Screen Rant's Tatiana Hullender shared that "between all the quips, F-bombs, and blood baths," Deadpool & Wolverine is definitely pulling the emotional heartstrings, praising Reynolds and Jackman for "understanding what a millennial like me loved about the 20th Century Fox universe."
Screen Rant's Joe Deckelmeier called Deadpool & Wolverine "perfect for me" while referring to the film as an "incredible journey and tribute to the Marvel/Fox universe[s.]"

As more Deadpool & Wolverine reactions and reviews roll out over the coming days, the early response makes it clear that Marvel Studios has a winner on their hands. While the road to this movie has been long, it seems that the wait will have been worth it for the MCU audience. Even though a lot has been revealed about Deadpool & Wolverine through marketing, the responses indicate that there are still a lot of surprises left in store for the audience.
It's also very evident that these early reactions to Deadpool & Wolverine show that Marvel Studios is leaning into what audience love the most about the MCU. While some of the recent releases have struggled on the big screen, Deadpool & Wolverine seems to capitalize on not only some of the most beloved Marvel superheroes of all time, but also adds something refreshing to the comic book movie genre.
It will definitely be fascinating to see how the general audience responds to Deadpool & Wolverine, along with other critics.
