Emma Corrin opens up on how the MCU timeline.

Screen Rant recently chatted with the Deadpool & Wolverine cast, including Corrin, who will be the film's primary antagonist. When asked if they looked at either James McAvoy or Sir Patrick Stewart's performances as Professor X to help inform their own, Corrin shared the following in of what research they did for the film:

I did look back at those two performances. I hesitated before I did because I was like, 'Do I want to get too close? Will I still be able to make it my own?' But I found it really interesting how they portrayed someone whose power is very internal and telepathic in that telepathic world. I wanted to see if there were any bits that I could use or pay homage to that, obviously, fans would really enjoy. But in of the comics, we very much stay true to the comics in of Cassandra's look, the cap and the costume and the weirdy fingers, and definitely, you'll see echoes of her origin story and her relationship of her brother are very prominent here in of her motivation.

Corrin was also asked if there are any X-Men characters that they would want to share the screen with in the future or even established MCU characters. The Deadpool & Wolverine star shared how they would love to see an MCU movie with Cassandra and Charles' deeper history, sharing the following:

Emma Corin: You know what I've got a lot in interviews recently is people saying there should be a film where I played Charles and Cassandra. That would be wild, which I hadn't thought of, but that is sort of my answer, not that I would play him, but I think to see Cassandra and Charles Xavier meet, everyone loves a bit of family drama!

Could Emma Corrin Return As Cassandra Nova In Future MCU Movies After Deadpool & Wolverine?

Marvel Can Explore More With Cassandra Nova & Her Connection With The X-Men.

Since the MCU is rebooting the X-Men franchise, it is very possible that Corrin could play the Earth-616 version of Cassandra and go in a different direction with the character.

Time will tell how the Deadpool & Wolverine story may conclude for Cassandra after her war with the titular heroes, but it doesn't mean that this has to be the end for the character after the Phase 5 movie. It's key to that, like many characters in the MCU, Cassandra has variants in the larger multiverse, allowing Corrin to potentially portray alternative versions of the X-Men character down the line. Whether Corrin is playing multiple versions of Cassandra in Deadpool & Wolverine remains to be seen.

Since the MCU is rebooting the X-Men franchise, it is very possible that Corrin could play the Earth-616 version of Cassandra and go in a different direction with the character. That would also be a way for Corrin to have their new version of Cassandra develop a dynamic with Professor X, without having to contradict whatever goes down in Deadpool & Wolverine. As much as the MCU movie will lean into Cassandra and Charles' family background, it would be more natural to see it in the context of an X-Men film.

Given how limited Marvel Studios has been with releasing more details on Cassandra, it will be exciting to see what they have in store for the character. As Cassandra has only been featured in a handful of scenes through the marketing, there are likely a lot of surprises being kept with the character. With less than a week to go, the MCU audience will soon get a proper experience of Corrin as Cassandra in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Deadpool & Wolverine opens in theaters on July 26.
