Warning: contains major spoilers for Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point #5!
Fortnite. While he may not seem like a detective to begin with, he has one particular trick up his sleeve that could make him more effective than Batman himself.
In the limited series Damian Wayne, Lois Lane, the Question (Vic Sage), and Green Arrow, as well as Plastic Man and a Manhunter. The second team - assembled secretly by Lois - included Zatanna, Constantine, Detective Harvey Bullock, Elongated Man, Renee Montoya as the Question, and Deathstroke. While most of these teams make sense, Deathstroke seemed like an outlier. Now, he's proving that he deserved to be on that team for the exact reason that Lois assembled it to begin with.
Created by the team of Donald Mustard, Christos Gage, Reilly Brown, Nelson Faro DeCastro, and John Kalisz, Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point #5 places Deathstroke in the middle of a new mystery. He's working with Batman, Catwoman, and several original Fortnite characters to uncover the secrets of the game's world - including how to get home. Along the way he makes some excellent deductions, bringing up suggestions that could be plausible in this world - and even back in the DC Omniverse - though they aren't the kinds of conclusions Batman would be okay with drawing himself.
While fighting against a group of unidentified guards, the Dark Knight asks an interesting question: how are the guards so in synch? After all, some of them just arrived, which eliminates the possibility that they've Deathstroke to cover for himself since he has a bigger role in the background dealings of the world. However, these are still possible solutions that Batman wouldn't really consider.
The Caped Crusader, though he has a superior intellect, is a stickler for the pragmatic. He typically wants answers that make sense, that have a rhyme or reason to them. He usually has answers grounded in logic and science. Magic and the supernatural aren't really his department. That is exactly why Lois Lane called a second team in back during Event Leviathan. Zatanna and Constantine always deal with magic and the supernatural. one of DC's greatest and most underrated detectives.
