Some of the new content included in the  PlayStation 5 remaster will include a type of Respec system and Fractured Mode. The game's release is just over a week away, and the development team behind it are continuing to reveal more and more about the remaster's differences.

So far, Bluepoint has detailed the changes to the game's difficulty, and even given a release date for the game's original soundtrack. There will be plenty of changes for players to explore as they make their way through the perilous Boletaria Kingdom. Another of these new changes will be an updated character creation system, which apparently has some version of a respec system.

In an interview with GameSpot, creative director at SIE Worldwide Studios Gavin Moore seemed excited to share more this new system. In a rapid fire segment towards the end of the interview, Moore was asked if the remastered Demon's Souls would give players the option to reallocate their stats and try new builds. Moore responded:

"What we have done is we've updated the character creator. And we've given thousands upon thousands of new permutations where you can create and you can play. And then once you've chosen a character, what you can do is after you've paid a number of souls for it--in the Nexus--you can actually store your character and then go in and change your character in the Nexus. So that's the quick interpretation of it, I guess. I'll leave it up to you to find out where it is and how you do it."

Moore also briefly commented on Demon's Souls mysterious new, "Fractured Mode," of which not much is known. After being asked about it, the director replied, "Fractured Mode is basically the Fractured World and it's a mirror mode. And actually, that's challenging because you reverse the map."

To player's unfamiliar with Demon's Souls franchise, flipping the map horizontally Shadow of the Colossus, and reception was largely positive.

And then there is the new character creator which, while Moore did not go super in-depth about it, seems to allow players an incredible degree of flexibility in how they play (assuming they purchased the game's deluxe edition), once they find the Nexus in-game. Like everything else in the Souls series, nothing will ever come easily, even changing your own character. Of course, Moore's answer was a quick run down of the new system, and it's possible there's more going on in the massive Demon's Souls overhaul than players currently understand.
