The First Look At Despicable Me 4
Not long after the full trailer for Despicable Me 4 was released, a special "Big Game" teaser was played during the 2024 Super Bowl. Though it features no new footage from the movie, the 30-second spot involves Gru's Minions working tirelessly with AI technology to help promote the new movie. Celebrated actor Jon Hamm narrates the teaser, though he isn't featured in the film.
As the film's release date draws nearer, the official trailer for Despicable Me 4 has been released, and it is already promising the best outing yet. Wasting no time, the teaser introduces baby Gru Jr. and makes it clear that the infant has little love for his father. Meanwhile, supervillain Maxime Le Mal has escaped from custody which prompts the whole family to go into hiding. Besides drumming up interest in the fourth film, the trailer also reveals everything viewers will need to know about Despicable Me 4.
However, as with most popular Hollywood films, there was a second Despicable Me 4 trailer released in May 2024, just a few months before the film's premiere. The lengthy trailer focuses exclusively on the new villain Maxime Le Mal as he tries to be evil but fails miserably, before switching to the loveable minions. Introducing a new wrinkle to the sequel's story, the trailer reveals a new minion serum that turns the yellow helpers into superheroes to save Gru and his family.
