Ice Breaker is just one of many exotics from the original Destiny that have made their way into Destiny 2, and it returns with a brand-new catalyst that you'll need to unlock. Unless you run the dungeon within the first 48 hours of its release in Contest mode, the only way to get Ice Breaker is to run the dungeon until it drops, which might take a while. You can complete a few Triumphs to increase your drop chance, but other than that, there's no way to guarantee when you'll get it.

Once you have the gun unlocked, you can earn its catalyst. The catalyst for Ice Breaker makes it even more ammo efficient; whenever you land a hit on a frozen or slowed target, there's a chance to return a round to the magazine. This improves Ice Breaker pretty heftily, allowing you to truly dominate any Stasis-afflicted enemy. Before you can get started finding this tricky catalyst, you'll need to finish the dungeon at least once.

How To Complete The "Rogue Network" Quest

There Are Ten Steps To This Quest, So Get Ready

You'll receive "Rogue Network" from the Spider when you load into Destiny 2 after Vesper's Host's release, as long as you have the Dungeon Key. This key can be purchased in the Eververse store along with the rest of D2's DLC or as part of the deluxe edition for The Final Shape. Either way, pick up the quest from the Spider in The Last City to gain access to the dungeon.

Once you get into the dungeon, you'll need to defeat the many enemies and encounters thrown your way. For a full breakdown of all three encounters, you can follow KackisHD's video on YouTube. Finishing the dungeon is the first step in the quest, after which you'll need to collect the beacon that spawns on one of the pillars to the left side of the reward chest.

Just like with Choir of One, you'll be running Vesper's Host quite a few times to unlock Ice Breaker's catalyst fully.

Step Two and Three: Hidden Messages, Then Spider

After picking it up, go back to the Spider, who will task you with finding three hidden messages in Vesper Station. You'll be able to find them in the dungeon in the following locations, which 360GameTV covers really well in their YouTube video:

Message Location

How To Access

After first encounter, in the room marked by a heart over the door.

Head into the heart room, then stand on each plate as it blinks, one at a time. Once you've activated all the plates, you'll get an Ascendant Alloy and be able to interact with a on the wall in the back right corner to get hidden message number one.

Before encounter two, where you deposit the Nuclear Cores.

Check the large screen terminal to find out which plate is blinking. Similar to message one's puzzle, this puzzle requires you to stand on each plate in the order that they blink. Then you can once again interact with a on the wall to find the hidden message.

After encounter two, in the jumping section with the orange lightning.

This puzzle works just like the previous one, only there are 10 nodes now. Collect the final message from the to the left of the terminal to continue the quest.

Step Four: Secret Chest One

After you've grabbed the first three messages from various locations on the Vesper Station, it's time to unlock the first secret chest. This chest is back in the Nuclear Core section, where you found the second message. After you bank the fourth Core, move deeper until you reach an area laden with debris. Jump over, then look for a door to your left. This door contains the first secret chest, which will progress your quest.

As of right now, this chest is bugged; only the first person to open the chest gets the quest progress and loot. If you're running this with friends, you'll need to head back to orbit and load back into the checkpoint for everyone to get credit.

Step Five: Three More Messages

After you get the chest, you'll need to find three more messages. Once again, you can check out 360GamingTV for a visual walkthrough or follow the steps below:

Message Location

How To Access

After the first encounter - Heart Room

Go into the blue room inside the Heart Room, where you'll see a bunch of s with red numbers on them. You'll need the Operator buff as well as the Scanner buff here. Scanner should watch the minimap, telling Operator to shoot the s that disappear. Keep doing this until you get your Ascendant Alloy reward, picking up the message on the left side of the room.

After you drop down to the jumping puzzle area

Head to the platform where the Brig spawns and clear it. You'll then need to pick up the Scanner and Operator buffs, which you should use just like you did previously to activate s around the room.

End of the jumping puzzle, after the Machine Priest

After you take out a Machine Priest, jump onto the still platforms. Pick up the two buffs, then, like before, shoot the s that the Scanner sees disappear.

Step Six and Seven: Secret Chest Two, Then Spider

After you grab the second set of three messages, you'll need to open the dungeon's second secret chest. This is in the room where you defeated the Machine Priest, so you're close by. As you backtrack, head into the room with the trip mines, where you'll find a door that used to be locked surrounded by a bunch of branchlike wires surrounding it. This door will now open, revealing the second secret chest. Return to the Spider, who will send you back to Vesper Station once again.

Step Eight: Activate s

Throughout the dungeon, you'll need to activate two of the four total blue s that you can find. To complete the quest step, you only need to grab two of them, but you might as well get them all, as you're going to need to do them all eventually, anyway. Our good friend 360GamingTV includes the locations for those s in their video on YouTube, so check those out and grab them during one of your runs.

If you've already completed both triumphs, the numbers on each of these s, as you'll need them for the catalyst's final step.

Steps Nine and Ten: Class Items and The Spider

Return to the room that housed the second secret chest, where you'll find a new Operator buff and some new s that have appeared. Using this buff, shoot the fourth and second s on the wall, which correspond to the numbers four and two. This will cause a new chest to spawn, rewarding you with a dungeon-exclusive class item. To fully complete the quest, head back to the Spider.

How To Complete The "Access Override" Triumph

Complete Three More Puzzles, This Time With Math

All three puzzles for Access Override Triumph in Destiny 2

The first of the three puzzles involved in "Access Override" is located in the Heart Room after the first encounter. The room should look different now, with an Operator buff along with some oval s appearing alongside the red s that were there before. The left set of blue s will display a random number, while the right set starts at "00." Above the red s are a number of lit and unlit triangle lights.

If you need help with these puzzles, check out this online tool created by _Kr0 on Reddit.

These lights indicate how many shots/interactions with a red you have to add to the number displayed by the blue s on the left. You need to shoot the red s to produce the number displayed. The right-hand set of blue s will change as you interact with the red ones, so use your additional skills to solve this puzzle. After you've done this correctly, you'll get another Ascendant Alloy, and a will appear on the right-hand box. Collect this to complete the first bit of the triumph.

Puzzle Two: Multiplication

The second puzzle for this triumph is located before the second encounter and is pretty hard to miss. There will be an operator buff in the orange hallway before the encounter, with a bunch of red s as well as two sets of three blue s on either side of the doorway.

Notice that the s sets' purposes are switched; the s on the right display the target product and the set of s on the left display the current number. In order to solve this puzzle, you'll need to multiply the red- numbers together to reach the number on the right. Once again, use the Operator buff to do some quick math to solve this puzzle, after which another will appear below the right set of blue s.

Puzzle Three: Addition and Multiplication

This last puzzle for the triumph is in the yellow-bar Servitor room after the jumping puzzle after the second encounter. This room has quite a few blue s, with two sets of two blue s and two sets of three. The duo blue s display the numbers created by shooting the red s, while the trio s display the "000" starting and target numbers.

In order to complete this puzzle, you need to first add numbers together to create two sums by shooting the red s, and these two sums will then be multiplied to create your target number. You'll have four shots per set of duo blues, so use four shots to add up to the number on the right, then four shots to add up to the number on the left.

After these two numbers are entered, they'll be multiplied automatically to fill in the target s. You'll need to work backward from your target value; if your target is 360, you'll want to make 24 (8+7+6+3) and 15 (8+4+2+1) on the duo s. This will multiply automatically to 360, solving the puzzle and giving you access to the final you need to collect for the triumph. This will also unlock the ability to focus armor later on like you could focus weapons for Onslaught to farm BRAVE weapons.

How To Complete The "Director Access" Triumph

This One Is Confusing, So If You Want An Explanation, Hold On Tight

The Director Access triumph room in Destiny 2

To reach the room, you'll need to access the "Director Access" Triumph, head back through the dungeon, stopping once again after you defeat the Machine Priest. After this, you should turn left across the station instead of heading forward, where you'll see a narrow wall age leading to a secret room. Defeat the enemy inside to obtain the Operator buff, which you'll need to solve the puzzle.

Now is where things get tricky. You'll find yourself in a room with four pillars, each with its own Operator s and mechanics. In order to unlock the chest and complete the triumph, you'll need to solve the puzzle at each column, which doesn't seem too bad. Unfortunately, each column's result impacts how you'll interact with the others, so you'll have to think ahead when solving it.

Check out the full solution in the Reddit post below by u/TheLiveDunn, who has explained the mechanics of each column and the full solution and why it works. I'm not the kind of gamer who likes to give up on puzzles, so being able to understand why the solution is what it is when I finally itted defeat was a balm to my wounded pride. If you don't mind some reading, you can follow along with TheLiveDunn's explanation:

Once you've opened the chest that spawns, you only have one step remaining between yourself and Ice Breaker's catalyst. Claiming the triumph will give you access to the second-level secret chest room number s, which will allow you to finally obtain the catalyst.

Obtaining The Ice Breaker Catalyst

Destroy Some Crystals, Then Head To The Second Level Secret Chest

Getting the Ice Breaker Catalyst in Destiny 2

In order to find the secret code you need, you'll need to use Ice Breaker to destroy four stasis crystals hidden throughout the dungeon. As you destroy each one, note down the numbered it reveals, as each one is a digit in the code. You'll have found a few s like this already for the "Rogue Network" quest, but just in case, here are all of their locations:

Stasis Crystal/

Location

1

After the first encounter, walk up the staircase to find it in the top right corner above the doorway to the next room. Destroy the crystal, and a with a number will appear on the ceiling.

2

Before the first boss fight, after depositing the third Nuke, head to the next room. Instead of moving to the blue energy barrier, wing to the right to find the crystal behind a box. Use Ice Breaker to destroy it, and a will appear behind the glass with a number on it.

3

After defeating the first boss, head to the jumping puzzle. As you drop, look through Ice Breaker's scope to see the crystal out towards space. Use Ice Breaker, and note the number on the that is revealed.

4

In the tripmine room, you'll find the crystal by turning around at the end of the room and looking right. Destroy it; note the number.

Entering all four numbers into the secret chest room also lets you focus drops.

After you've destroyed all four Stasis Crystals, head back into the second secret chest room in the trip mine area. You'll find the s lit up once again and an Operator buff in this room. Enter all four numbers you found in order, and if you did everything correctly, you'll be able to loot the chest to get the Ice Breaker catalyst. While this is one of the most complicated catalyst quest in Destiny 2, the power it lends to this nostalgic sniper makes it entirely worth it.
