Angel Batista (David Zayas) will return in Dexter: Resurrection already looks like it could be a great installment in the franchise.

Even though Batista is coming back, there's still a big hole in the end of the original Dexter. That character is Joey Quinn (Desmond Harrington), and I truly hope Dexter: Resurrection brings him back. Not only does the character deserve a reprisal, but Quinn could add a lot to Resurrection.

Dexter: Resurrection Needs To Bring Back Joey Quinn Alongside Batista

Quinn Deserves Some Closure About Deb's Death & Vindication For Being Suspicious Of Dexter

Since Batista is coming back for Dexter: Resurrection, Joey Quinn would be a perfect compliment to his return. Batista will likely get a chance to confront Dexter with some of the sins and mistakes of his past, namely his role in Maria LaGuerta's (Luna Lauren Velez) death. While Batista would be able to hold Dexter to for things like LaGuerta's death, Quinn would be much better suited to making Dexter revisit Deb's death. Quinn and Deb did date, after all, and he arguably took her death as poorly as Dexter did. What better way to reckon with the past than through the character who misses Deb the most?

Aside from making Dexter reconsider Deb's death, Quinn also deserves to be part of Dexter: Resurrection for his own reasons. Nobody knew for sure that Dexter pulled Deb's life at the end of Dexter, so Quinn could finally get some closure about her death in Resurrection. Quinn will finally be able to get the truth about Deb's death, finally vindicate his suspicions about Dexter being a killer, and help force Dexter to confront the consequences of his actions, but only if he appears in Dexter: Resurrection. Luckily, Dexter: New Blood has already laid the groundwork for that to happen.

Dexter: New Blood Revealed Quinn Still Works At Miami Metro

Some Of Batista's Emails Revealed Quinn Was Working At Miami Metro & Still Friends With Masuka

Batista on the phone in Dexter New Blood

Joey Quinn is already in the perfect position to make an appearance in Dexter: Resurrection because he almost appeared in New Blood. In the finale of Dexter: New Blood, while Batista was checking his email, two messages from Joey Quinn could briefly be seen. One was titled "Jane Doe," confirming that Quinn still works at Miami Metro, while the other was labeled "Masuka's Bachelor Party," indicating that Quinn, Batista, and Vince Masuka (C.S. Lee) were all still friends. If Quinn was still working for and friends with Batista in New Blood, there's no reason he wouldn't him in Resurrection.

Thanks to Quinn's friendship with Dexter and Batista and his past love for Debra, it would be extremely easy to explain that they went to New York to search for Dexter together. Angela Bishop (Julia Jones) even ed Batista professionally, meaning he could easily justify taking Quinn to New York. Quinn wasn't working homicide yet, but he was one of the few people who was around during the Bay Harbor Butcher investigation, and he has more than enough personal reasons to look for Dexter. It would be extremely easy to include Joey Quinn in Dexter: Resurrection.
