Players can imbue items in Diablo 2: Resurrected through one of the NPCs in Act 1. Imbuing upgrades a common item to a rare item, giving it more power and a random assortment of magical properties. This action can only be performed once per difficulty for a total of three times per character. Charsi in Act 1 has the ability to imbue items for players.
Items consist of weapons and gear that are used to enhance a character's skills and stats. The higher quality an item is, the better the stats will be and the more magical properties it will have. Deciding when to imbue an item is important because it is such a rare occurrence, and players will need top weapons and gear to have one of the best builds in Diablo 2: Resurrected.
To unlock the ability to imbue an item, players will need to complete the "Tools of the Trade" quest in Act 1. There are a few steps to finishing this quest like traveling to the Diablo 2: Resurrected. The Monastery Barracks can be difficult to find, but once inside players will be able to easily complete the quest and claim their reward. However, imbuing an item right away will likely result in a poor quality weapon because players are at a low level in Act 1.
Imbuing Items in Diablo 2: Resurrected
After reaching the Monastery Gates, players can speak to Charsi to obtain the "Tools of the Trade" quest. Head into the Monastery Barracks from the Outer Cloister, then search the area to find the Smith. Defeat this Super Unique enemy to claim Charsi's Horadric Malus. Once the hammer is returned to Charsi, she will give players the opportunity to imbue one item. This is only available once per difficulty, but the ability to imbue can be saved for as long as the player wants. It's possible to finish Act 1 without completing the "Tools of the Trade" quest, so players should be sure to speak to Charsi and explore the Monastery Barracks thoroughly.
Knowing when to use the imbue ability can be tricky. It's safest to wait until the character is at a high level or has reached their maximum level. If players choose to imbue items early, it's best to do it with a class item. Class items are specific to the type of character and indicate in the description which class they're for. Unfortunately, the properties are generated randomly, so there's no guarantee that the imbued item will be better for the character, but waiting for a higher level gives a better chance of this.
characters have top builds that are enhanced by high-quality gear and weapons. Imbuing is only available through the NPC Charsi, a blacksmith in the town of Act 1. Players can complete "Tools of the Trade" to unlock this ability up to three times per character, but it's recommended that players wait to use the ability until their character is at a higher level.
Diablo 2: Resurrected is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
