Getting access to a mount in enormous world of Sanctuary.

There are numerous different breeds of horse available to the player in Diablo 4, some are common run-of-the-mill steeds like the Caldeum, Dustback, or Marshback; others, however, are far more unique. In spite of this, the visual excitement of even the most mundane breed in Sanctuary can easily be upgraded through the use of Mount Armors and the display of Trophies. Although each mount has identical abilities and attributes - including speed and health, some of the player's potential equine companions are unquestionably cooler than others.

10 Executioner's Steed

Diablo 4 Mount: Executioner's Steed

The Executioner's Steed is, on first appearance, an unremarkable horse, however, upon closer inspection, it is one of the coolest mounts in all of Sanctuary. The Executioner's Steed has a dark, almost black coat, a uniquely unkempt braided mane, and a metal nose ring, all of which imbue it with an interesting, moody, and even morose aesthetic. The steed is found as a drop and can be obtained in-game by looting chests and defeating enemies.

9 Cavalier's Steed

Diablo 4 Mount: Cavalier's Steed

Although there are many light-coated mounts in Diablo 4, such as the relatively common Pale, Stable Master, and Light Bearer Mounts, The Cavalier's Steed is notable for its pure and vivid white color. The mount is also notable for its highly stylized mane, which has been uniquely braided. The Cavalier's Steed is a random drop reward and can only be obtained in-game by looting chests and defeating enemies across any of the regions of Sanctuary.

8 Liath Icehowl

Diablo 4 Mount: Liath Icehowl

Although in some respects similar to the Executioner's Steed, Liath Icehowl, with its bluish-hue mottled coat and long braided mane, is unique, and visually distinct from any other mount in Diablo 4. Liath Icehowl has perhaps the greatest lore of any steed in the game - it was once used to transport corpses to their rest. The mount is not obtainable in the base game, it can only be acquired by purchasing the Crypt Hunter Pack.

7 Striped Steppe Steed

Diablo 4 Mount: Striped Steppe Steed

The Striped Steppe Steed is a rare equine breed found in the Dry Steppes of Sanctuary. The mount has a pale orange coat with highly pronounced dark brown stripes running down its neck and across its back. The breed also features a unique short and uplifted mane which is likewise striped. The Striped Steppe Steed mount can only be obtained in the Dry Steppes as a drop from monster loot and chests.

6 Triune Charger

Diablo 4 Mount: Triune Charger

Although the Triune Charger has a basic bay coat and a nondescript dark brown mane, it is the religious symbols of the Triune faith which have been carved all over the steed which make it one of the most visually compelling mounts in the game. Currently, the only method to obtain the Triune Charger is through the game's shop for a total of 1,500 Platinum, or approximately $15 - an investment, but perhaps a worthwhile one.

5 Bloody Liquid Steed

Diablo 4 Mount: Bloody Liquid Steed

The Bloody Liquid Steed, although common, is one of the most aesthetically interesting mounts in Diablo 4. This stallion is more macabre than majestic, but its bloody and morbid appearance makes it one of the coolest mounts in the game - and a great choice for a sorcerer build. Like many other common mounts, the Bloody Liquid Steed is obtainable as a drop and can be found in-game by looting chests and defeating enemies around Sanctuary.

4 Primal Instinct

Diablo 4 Mount: Primal Instinct

Currently, only available until July 2, 2023, as part of a promotion between Twitch and developer Blizzard Entertainment, the Primal Instinct mount is a visually interesting stallion with a subtly striped coat similar to a zebra as well as several bright red patterns on its head, shoulder, and haunch. To get the Primal Instinct mount, players must, between June 5 and July 2, 2023, gift two subscriptions to an eligible Diable 4 creator on Twitch.

3 Temptation

Diablo 4 Mount: Temptation Mount

The Temptation mount is an incredibly cool-looking steed. This hellish steed appears to be, in some lights, almost luminescent. It has vivid red, semi-translucent skin, with the front of its skull protruding in a manner visually evocative of the hell horses from Ark. Unfortunately, this mount is not obtainable in any way in-game, and it can only be acquired as digital loot through the purchase of the Deluxe or Ultimate edition versions of Diablo 4.

2 Decaying Steed

Diablo 4 Mount: Decaying Steed

The Decaying Steed mount is a gnarly-looking horse - as its name implies. Reminiscent of a zombie-horse-esque aesthetic, the Decaying Steed mount would be a perfect role-playing choice for a necromancer build. The only known method to obtain the Decaying Steed mount in Diablo 4 is to defeat a Treasure Goblin. Encountering these goblins is on its own, rare; however, doing so does not guarantee that they will drop the Reins of the Decaying Steed mount.

1 Spectral Charger

Diablo 4 Mount Spectral Charger

Perhaps the coolest mount in Diablo 4, the Spectral Charger is unique in its visuals, trail, and sound effects. The Spectral Charger has a brilliant translucent blue appearance, reminiscent of a ghostly visage. The Spectral Charger is a drop reward, and therefore free; however, it can prove quite elusive. Many players fortunate enough to have obtained this majestic beast, report it dropping as a reward for completing world events, gathering legion events, nightmare dungeons, and strongholds.
