Although news has been fairly scarce lately regarding Diablo 4, fans should know a bit more about the title from Blizzard once BlizzCon arrives in February. As in previous Diablo titles, character classes will be important, and the game will launch with five classes. So far, only three classes have been officially confirmed for Diablo 4. Here's what fans should know about each one.
The classes coming to Diablo 4 so far are Barbarian, Druid, and Sorceress. These three classes were leaked for Diablo 4 before being officially confirmed at BlizzCon in 2019. Since then, the other two classes have remained a mystery, although fans are hopeful they'll learn more about the new character classes at BlizzCon this year, which is being held online and will start on February 19th.
Barbarians are powerhouses who appear to be built for dealing and taking damage. The Barbarian is still one of the most popular classes in Diablo 3, so it's nice to see it return for Diablo 4. Barbarians can switch between weapons in combat, and they exceed at dealing melee damage. For anyone who prefers close-ranged combat and likes being at the center of the action, Barbarian is just about perfect.
Diablo 4's Confirmed Classes Have All Been Revealed
The second class to be confirmed is Druid. Druids were popular in Diablo 2, and it's great to see them finally returning in Diablo 4. As in Diablo 2, Druids are shapeshifters. This means they can take on a range of appearances, including turning into humans and werewolves. Druids are also spellcasters, and their magic is based in storm and earth elements.
The third class for Diablo 4 so far is Sorceress. An official update announcement for Diablo 4 last year revealed quite a bit about the combat and skill systems for the Sorceress class. This mage class relies on fire, cold, and lightning magic to deal damage. They have the ability to freeze and slow down enemies, and Sorceresses boast a unique Enchantment system which gives Sorceresses access to a host of ive ability bonuses. The fourth class was the Rogue, and now the fifth and final class for Diablo 4, the Necromancer, has been revealed. This means the five classes for Diablo 4 at launch are:
- Barbarian
- Druid
- Sorceress
- Rogue
- Necromancer
For now, these are the three confirmed classes for Diablo 4; however, five classes will be in the game when it launches. Other popular and familiar classes, like Monk or Necromancer, could be announced soon. Another physical class like Monk seems obvious, since two of the three confirmed classes so far rely heavily on magic. Hopefully, the additional classes for Diablo 4 will be announced soon - and BlizzCon 2021 seems like a perfect place to do that.
