For years, Disney has been creating films, television series, games, toys, theme parks and songs that entertain fans of all ages. And while every story from this magical brand is unique, many have them focus on a common and popular theme: love.
Yes, the relationships between romantic couples and the bonds between friends and family are always celebrated, when it comes to Disney. There have been so many tales, scenes, tunes and moments that mention and inspire love.
“So this is love… So this is what makes life divine.”
One of the most well-known Disney princesses is Cinderella, with her rags-to-riches story. Despite all her chores and despite her evil stepmother, she made it to that ball, she danced with Prince Charming, she fell for him, and vice versa. After that, she was going around the house, humming and singing, since she finally knew all about love; the thing that makes life divine.
“Everything is different now that I see you.”
Rapunzel was stuck up in a tower, but like a true Disney princess, she met a cute and charming person and fell in love. Her words on the topic stated that everything was different after meeting Flynn Rider.
That is how it goes: There are butterflies in the stomach, the world looks shiny and new, and a whole new outlook is adopted, all thanks to l-o-v-e!
“One song… My heart keeps singing… Of one love… Only for you.”
Music is a big part of these films, and many of the most notable Disney songs are centered around this topic; it is a good way to express feelings, and it causes people to want to shout (or sing) from the rooftops.
That being said, Snow White gets the credit for this line, which is about the heart being stuck on one song and one love.
“I’d rather die tomorrow than live a hundred years without knowing you.”
Sometimes, it is the Pocahontas. He told her that he would rather die tomorrow than live 100 years without knowing her. How romantic.
Not everyone could say such a thing, and while some people could argue that these flicks sets unrealistic expectations, one thing is for sure: They are wonderful tales that make the world a better (and love-filled) place.
“You’ll be in my heart... From this day on... Now and forever more.”
While tear-jerking Tarzan songs/words were included in that movie, with lines such as this one.
It reminds loved ones that they will be in hearts forever, whether they are boyfriends, girlfriends, husbands, wives, children, parents or beyond.
“Now I’m in a whole new world with you.”
Another iconic song, moment, love story and quote regarding love can be found in Aladdin; during the magic carpet scene, Aladdin and Jasmine flew around and fell in love, singing about being in a whole new world.
And, once again, when someone is in love, they do, indeed, feel like they are in a brand new place; a beautiful place!
“Tale as old as time.”
Everyone knows "Tale As Old As Time" from Beauty and the Beast, and its title says it all: Love, in general, is this classic thing, something that everyone desires and something that makes for a wonderful story.
Yes, even if the story stars a beast, this is Disney, after all, so there is always a happily ever after.
“Love is a song that never ends.”
A lot of beloved Disney quotes come from Bambi, it was said that love is a song that never ends.
This works well, when it comes to this magical company, since it continues to release swoon-worthy tales and the world continues to find its own happy endings.
“My dream wouldn’t be complete without you in it.”
Disney characters have been shown chasing goals like wanting to fit in, wanting to break free, wanting to have respect and wanting to be famous chefs. Yes, Tiana had a dream, and in The Princess and the Frog, she realized it would not be complete without love. Like the other characters listed here, she taught viewers that no dream is too big and that anything is possible.
“Can you feel the love tonight? You needn’t look too far. Stealing through the night’s uncertainties, love is where they are.”
This is from perhaps the most celebrated Disney song of all time: "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" from The Lion King.
The lyric, the scene, the film, the brand All of it puts the best parts of love on display, inspiring people and spreading even more goodness and care around the world.
