Now that the Cheshire Cat can finally be welcomed to Disney Dreamlight Valley as an official villager, he's kicking off his arrival with the Cheshire Cat Chaos event. Whether you've unlocked the ability to befriend the Cheshire Cat or not, as long as you have completed Alice in Wonderland's realm and invited him to the valley, you will be able to participate.

Upon opening Disney Dreamlight Valley on May 7th, 2025, you should find a letter in your mailbox from Merlin. He's writing to let you know that the Cheshire Cat has done the impossible and begun venturing into other realms to cause chaos, which he would like you to put a stop to. There should also be another general in-game letter indicating the start of the event.

Cheshire Cat Chaos Event Schedule

This Event Will Take Place Over Two Weeks

Beginning on May 7th, 2025, you will have until May 20th, 2025, to complete all the associated tasks in the event. However, completing the event right away will not be a possibility, as portions of the event will unlock on different dates. While some of the shenanigans will take place in the valley itself, the majority of rewards will be earned through cleaning up the realms that the Cheshire Cat has managed to enter.

At the start of the event, the Cheshire Cat will begin by causing chaos in the Toy Story realm. Following that, on May 11th, he will move to the Lion King realm, before finally, on May 15th, landing in the Aladdin realm. This means that you'll only have those windows of time to investigate that specific realm. Since each of the duties and their corresponding rewards are linked to a specific realm, if you miss out on completing one before he moves on, you will miss out entirely on that reward.

All Cheshire Cat Chaos Event Requirements

Unlock & Complete The Associated Realms

Unfortunately, participating in this event fully does have quite a few lengthy requirements, so if you haven't unlocked all of these aspects already, you may need to spend a few days grinding to finish them in time to participate. Firstly, and most obviously, you'll need to have unlocked and completed the Alice in Wonderland realm. For the Cheshire Cat to be causing havoc in the valley, he needs to be invited there, which does not happen until you unlock Alice in DDV and she sends you to get him. That being said, you don't need to befriend him to start.

I began investigating the Toy Story realm before I had finished his welcome quest, and it didn't prevent me from being able to find his paw prints there. However, you do need to have unlocked and completed the realms he intends to visit, which in this case are Toy Story, The Lion King, and Aladdin.

Not only do those three realms need to be unlocked, but you also need to have officially unlocked Woody, Buzz, Simba, Nala, Jasmine, and Aladdin as characters. Although the full Lion King realm technically now includes unlocking Timon and Pumbaa, they only become available once friendships have been maxed out with the initial Lion King realm villagers, so they are not part of the requirements for the Cheshire Cat Chaos event.

How To Participate In The Cheshire Cat Chaos Event

Look For Paw Prints & Cheshire Cracks In The Valley

For this event, there are four different duties and corresponding rewards to uncover, and all the duties will revolve around doing one of two things. The first is digging up purple Cheshire Cracks, which are normal digging spots with a purple center, making them easier to identify, while the second is cleaning up Cheshire Paw Prints by watering them with a watering can. All the tasks to complete as part of the event are listed in the table below:

If you would like to check your progress at any point, you can always check the Village tab in your duties and look for the tasks with the Cheshire Cat's face as the icon. Additionally, while the event gives you several days to complete the task for each realm, you can complete it in as little as one day, once it's available.

Specifically, the Cheshire Cracks spawn every 15 minutes with a maximum of 5 at any given time. The Cheshire Paw Prints spawn every 10 minutes, also with a max of 5 at any given time. Keep in mind, however, that the paw prints will only spawn in the Disney Dreamlight Valley realm that is currently being infiltrated, which is indicated by the paw prints on the realm door and the schedule mentioned in this article.

As for the rewards for the event, each duty will reward a specific wonderland-themed furniture item. There are four pieces in total to collect, and a memory of the Cheshire Cat that can be completed as part of the event as well. The rewards for each of the tasks in the Cheshire Cat Chaos Event are as follows:

Don't forget to keep an eye on the dates during this event, because if you finish up what's currently available, it can be easy to forget to return and complete the other tasks. If this event is anything like previous limited-time events, then these items will likely be gone for good once the event concludes. There is always a very slim chance they could be added to Disney Dreamlight Valley's Shop in the future, but this isn't likely, and it's not something you want to have to rely on.

Once all tasks have been completed, be sure to formally collect the rewards from your duty menu in Disney Dreamlight Valley. From there, you're free to do as you please. If you haven't already maxed out your friendship with the Cheshire Cat, continue befriending him to unlock even more Alice in Wonderland rewards, which include more furniture and the Uncrafting Machine.
