Disney Dreamlight Valley has just shared the first official teaser for its Summer 2025 update, and it seems like there might be more to this update than originally anticipated. Per the initial 2025 Road Map revealed at the start of the year, fans have pretty much confirmed that the summer update will be centered around Peter Pan. While originally thought to take place around or inside Skull Rock primarily, this new hint might prove otherwise.

Shared via Disney Dreamlight Valley's official Instagram and other social media platforms, the Summer update teaser comes in the form of an image featuring an old treasure map, where an X marks the spot. The text attached to the image, indicating that "someone dropped this," could mean the addition of more than just Peter Pan himself, as there's another character from this franchise who has been known to use a treasure map or two.

While there's nothing more to the hint than this, for now, Disney Dreamlight Valley is likely just getting started and will continue teasing new features that can be expected in the next update.

Disney Dreamlight Valley's Map Has Update Clues

X Marks The Spot To Neverland

When looking at the image, it's not too dissimilar from a map that's already been featured in-game, and it honestly doesn't show much. On the map itself, everything is exactly as it currently is in the game. However, the real hint is in what is drawn on the map. While Skull Rock was expected to be a key part of this update, the drawing of the arrow from Ariel's boat to an X in the distance indicates there will be more to explore beyond the valley itself.

At the moment, Ariel's boat only takes you to a strange, unnamed island where there is currently nothing else to do. However, if this island turns out to be Neverland, this hint may indicate that Captain Hook is actually the one associated with Skull Rock and will drop the map, which will then lead to Neverland to find Peter Pan. That being said, there is still little to go on at the moment, so we'll have to wait for more information to confirm.

Neverland Would Leave Room For Future DDV Updates

Tinker Bell, Wendy, & More Could Be Included In Future Updates

While Peter Pan is exciting himself, and it would be nice to see something substantial done with Skull Rock, the addition of Neverland would be the most notable aspect of this update if true. Not only would this provide another new area to explore in some capacity, but it could be expanded on in the future. Neverland holds tons of possibilities, including quests revolving around treasure hunts and the addition of new characters. Rather than a realm, Peter Pan could add new characters through Neverland.

While it's not guaranteed that Wendy would come to the valley just because Peter Pan does, especially since her daughter Jane also visits Neverland, it wouldn't be too far-fetched. One character that is nearly guaranteed to make an eventual appearance, however, is Tinker Bell, and Neverland would provide the perfect way to introduce her, and all of Pixie Hollow, to Disney Dreamlight Valley in a future update. Disney Dreamlight Valley has clearly begun to share teasers to prepare fans for the Summer 2025 update, so a steady stream of updates is likely on the way.
