Fans have been eagerly anticipating the newest update to Toy Story's Buzz Lightyear and Woody would be playing a part, and it's finally here.
As fans have come to expect at this point, the Missions in Uncharted Space update still brings a lot more content than was originally suggested and plenty to be excited about for a free update. These are just the best parts of the new additions.
The Toy Story Realm
If there's one addition to Disney Dreamlight Valley that's going to take the headlines with this newest update, it has to be the new Toy Story realm. Shrinking the player down to toy size, the realm presents a playground based on what eagle-eyed fans will recognize as Bonnie's room from Toy Story 3.
From the wooden toy train tracks to the children's drawings on the wall, all the details are guaranteed to get any player in a nostalgic mood. Though it has some tough competition, it's easily one of the most fun and creative areas in the game.
The New Story Content With Buzz And Woody
Of course, the thing that will make spending time in the new Toy Story area the most enjoyable is the new story content and friendship quests with Buzz and Woody. Interacting with each of them will unlock quests that include activities like finding batteries for Buzz and gathering materials for the two.
After Bonnie's farm made out of pipe cleaners and popsicle sticks gets knocked over, the player is tasked with helping the pair rebuild it in time to put on a play when she returns. It might not be a high-stakes storyline, but it hardly needs to be when it's this sweet, and it makes for a fun addition.
The New Festive Star Path
Just as Scar's Kingdom brought the villains' Star Path, Missions in Uncharted Space brings the brand new festive star path to get players in the holiday mood this winter. For players unfamiliar, the Star Paths are equivalent to Battle es in other games and help ensure there's always a goal to work towards while playing Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Costing 2,500 Moonstones, the new Star Path offers not only the chance to earn Moonstones back by completing missions but also contains a bunch of holiday-themed rewards. Although the missions can require grinding, the new Star Path is still an addition that, like previous versions, helps make Disney Dreamlight Valley stand out against similar games.
The New Dreamlight Skins For Merlin And Mickey
Promised as a reward in Disney Dreamlight Valley's social media follower campaign in August for 200k total wishlists across all platforms, Villager Skins have finally arrived with the Missions in Uncharted Space update. Having iconic Disney characters as Villagers is nice on its own, but being able to dress them up in new skins is a great bonus.
Unfortunately, it's limited to just two new Dreamlight Styles for Merlin and Mickey, but that's plenty to satisfy players for the moment as it seems likely to only be the start. The festive-themed skins can be unlocked in the new Star Path that's also included with the new update.
Stitch Has Arrived In Disney Dreamlight Valley
Players knew for a while that the newest Disney Dreamlight Valley update would bring Buzz Lightyear and Woody to the world of the game, but one surprise extra announced at the last minute was the inclusion of one more fan-favorite character. The titular Stitch from Lilo and Stitch has ed the game.
Unlocking Stitch is a little different from unlocking the other characters, requiring the player to find a special item hidden somewhere on Dazzle Beach to trigger the unlock quest which is itself an extended challenge. However, it's more than worth it to finally have the beloved blue creature the lineup.
New Friendship Quests For Minnie Mouse and WALL-E
For anyone worried that the update has focused too much on new characters and not enough on the many amazing characters already in the game, there's good news. The Missions in Uncharted Space update also includes new content for both Minnie and WALL-E with new level 10 friendship quests to complete.
Although there are still plenty more great Disney characters that need to be added to Disney Dreamlight Valley in time, new missions and interactions with old fan favorites are always welcome. Of course, new friendship quests mean new rewards too which is yet another reason to complete them as soon as possible.
A Toggle For Switching Between Day And Night
It's technically been possible for console and PC players to change between different times in Disney Dreamlight Valley since its launch by changing the internal clock of their device, but doing so can risk a bunch of other issues and, apart from anything else, doesn't feel like the right way to play the game.
Thankfully, for players that always play at night and want to witness the daytime in the valley, and vice versa, or anyone that wants to witness the game's beautiful sunsets and sunrises, the newest update comes with a day/night toggle. It's only a visual feature for the moment, but it's still a nice one.
A Bunch Of New Tool Enchantments
On the more practical side of things, the Missions in Uncharted Space update comes with brand-new enchantments for the Royal Tools, including ones for the shovel, fishing rod, and pickaxe. These enchantments promise to make all three activities significantly more efficient, which is great news for long-time players.
One cool new enchantment is the Miracle Fishing Bait for the fishing rod, and while it doesn't actually create any miracles, its trait of making rare fish easier to catch is a massive boon for fishers. The ingredients aren't the easiest to collect, but it's already looking to be more than worth it.
New Festive Recipes To Make
Disney Dreamlight Valley is already full of fun and useful recipes, but that doesn't mean new additions aren't always welcomed. With the winter update, the game's selection of recipes has extended to include some festive-themed options perfect for celebrating the holiday season.
Whether the player is a fan of gingerbread cookies, yule logs, or even a nice mug of warm cocoa, there's a new recipe that will satisfy that seasonal craving. Some of the more high-energy meals also work as a practical option for helping the player keep their stamina up while in action.
Kristoff's Stool Has An Expanded Selection
As a nice bonus addition to cap off the range of new content in the Missions in Uncharted Space update, the selection of items on offer at Kristoff's stool has expanded. Not only does Kristoff now offer a much larger selection, but there was one extra detail that caught fan's attention from the patch notes alone.
That was the hint that his new items on offer might include some iron ingots for players in need of the crucial material. Unfortunately, a bug affecting Kristoff's stool reported by Gamer Journalist has meant many players have been unable to access the new range as of the release of the patch, so a little patience may still be required.
