The newest set from Disney Lorcana is Ursula's Return, an aptly named expansion that features characters from The Little Mermaid alongside Disney movies like Encanto and Mulan. The new Illumineer's Trove for Ursula's Return includes just about everything one would expect in a box set of Ravensburger's popular TCG, and it also features some of the most impressive artwork to date.
Currently available in local hobby stores, this fourth Disney Lorcana set will be available worldwide starting on May 31, 2024. Ursula's Return, combined with the "Deep Trouble" Illumineer's Quest box set, serves as an end to the current story arc of Disney Lorcana, and many of the new cards seem to have a darker tone and a look that suggests a storm is brewing.

What's Included In The Illumineer's Trove For Ursula's Return
How Ursula's Return Trove Compares To Previous Releases
The Illumineer's Trove for Ursula's Return comes in its usual box, something extremely useful for storing cards that I've grown quite fond of as more and more of these Troves release, primarily due to how nice all that artwork looks. Ursula, Ariel, and Sisu from Raya and the Last Dragon are featured on the top of the box. The sides of the box feature Beast, Mulan, Ursula, and Flotsam and Jetsam from The Little Mermaid. It looks great on the shelf or stacked with the other Illumineer's Trove boxes, and it's small enough to be used as a deck box when going to the game shop to play.
For those who haven't checked out an Illumineer's Trove before, the one for Ursula's Return features the following:
- 1 storage box
- 6 card dividers
- 6 damage-counter dice
- 1 Lore counter
- 8 booster packs
The booster packs each contain 12 randomized cards. They also include collectible cards that can be combined to create the artwork from Deep Trouble. While it's still a little disappointing that booklets are no longer included in the Illumineer's Trove, the rest of the contents are excellent. Of course, the real treasure inside this Trove are the cards themselves - and they don't disappoint.
Disney Lorcana: Ursula's Return New Cards Overview
Excellent Artwork & Some Nice Mechanics
Disney Lorcana has had some spectacular card artwork over its young lifespan, and the cards featured in Ursula's Return are no different. Cards featuring the Madrigal family from Encanto, as seen in the Amber/Amethyst Starter Deck, make up a large portion of this set. Characters from Hercules, Frozen, and mainstays like Mickey Mouse and Goofy are also featured prominently. Of course, with so much focus on Ursula, The Little Mermaid takes center stage.
Hero cards are a nice boost to many decks, and cards like "Anna - True Hearted" work well with them. Much like the "puppy deck" in Into the Inklands, Ursula's Revenge offers one built around the Madrigal family. When opening the booster packs, I didn't snag any Enchanteds, but I did manage to get a few Legendary cards like "Diablo - Devoted Herald" and "The Queen - Diviner." Other highlights include the Legendary card "Piglet - Sturdy Swordsman" and "Daisy Duck - Musketeer Spy" (a Common card, but the art is really nice).
Disney Lorcana has had some spectacular card artwork over its young lifespan, and the cards featured in Ursula's Return are no different.
It's all luck of the draw, of course, but I had my best luck to date with pulling rare cards from the Illumineer's Trove of Ursula's Return. While I'm not totally convinced I'll incorporate too many of these new cards into my current custom deck, from a collecting standpoint, I'm pleased.
Final Thoughts On Disney Lorcana's Latest Set
Ursula's Return Is A Winner
The artwork in Disney Lorcana's latest set continues to impress, and the Illumineer's Trove is still a worthwhile purchase - especially for collectors. On the whole, I really like a lot of the cards presented here, but Into the Inklands may have the edge for me, personally. The quality and thought put into the cards and mechanics are once again on display here, setting up Disney Lorcana as a major TCG in a crowded playing field. If anything, Ursula's Return proves Ravensburger's trading card game is here to stay, and I'm interested to see what's in store for its future.
