With memorable musical numbers and a refreshing twist to the typical princess-focused fairy tale, the movie remains surprisingly underrated. Despite not gaining the same kind of popularity as the other films immediately following it, The Princess and the Frog has a devoted fanbase, and deserves more attention than it gets. What makes The Princess and the Frog a good Disney Animation movie is the marvelous characterization, catchy songs, and lessons about working hard and not losing sight of what is most important. With these in mind, it's easy to see why some of the best Princess and the Frog quotes reflect all of these factors.

Princess And The Frog Quietly Ended Disney's Hand-Drawn Animation Era
The Princess And The Frog was Disney’s last major hand-drawn feature. Here’s how the film persuaded Disney to make the move to computer animation.
"All My Life, I Read About True Love And Fairytales. And Tia... You Found It! I'll Kiss Him! For You, Honey! No Marriage Required."
Lottie/Charlotte La Bouff (Jennifer Cody)
Tiana's childhood friend is Charlotte "Lottie" LaBouff, the daughter of a wealthy sugar baron. Lottie is a very underrated character in Disney in general; despite being spoiled and self-centered, she has a heart of gold and is a really good friend to Tiana. Lottie shows various acts of kindness and to Tiana throughout the movie, from lending her dresses to ing her dreams and her business, but her biggest act was putting her own fairytale dreams of marrying a prince aside, so Tiana could have her happily ever after with Naveen. Or at least, attempting to. She is happy and willing to kiss Naveen-the-frog, to try and turn him back into a Prince, but she is a moment too late... still, the attempt is what matters.
This was a scene that showed the true friendship between Lottie and Tiana. Lottie, despite being rich and spoiled, remains kind, and always wants to put her friend's happiness first. It was this friendship that showed the Disney spirit in this tale. It's little wonder people want to see her in Tiana's Disney+ series, and, hopefully, she will get her own well-deserved happy ending then.
"All Women Enjoy The Kiss Of Prince Naveen. Come, We Pucker. *CROAK* That's New."
Naveen (Bruno Campos)
The Disney Prince in the movie is Prince Naveen of Maldonia. Although a rather flawed character to start with, Naveen is an entertaining character and a refreshing change to many of the Disney princes beforehand. However, his flaws are what make him a comic relief, as much as a traditional romantic hero. He is an overly confident charmer and a bit of a womanizer, who has never had to do a day's work in his life, and even becoming a frog does not seem to affect this. His initial attempt to charm Tiana into kissing him, so that he can become a human again, are hilariously misguided.
These specific Princess and the Frog quotes remain particularly funny because he can't control his new amphibian nature and delivers some frog quirks, such as a sudden throat bulge when he puckers up ready for a kiss. Tiana's reactions are hilarious, but so are Naveen's, as he reacts to the changes of the spell while trying to remain his previous, human, self.
"You Know The Thing About Good Food? It Brings Folks Together From All Walks Of Life."
Tiana (Anika Noni Rose)
Food plays a huge part in The Princess and the Frog. Tiana's ultimate dream is to open her own restaurant in New Orleans, and that is what she fights for - even more than finding her "prince." As shown at the start of the movie, opening her own restaurant has been her dream since she was a child, as it was her father's dream to open one as well. This line about food is both fitting and fueling for Tiana's dream and her epiphany when she realizes her father already had everything he loved and needed.

Why The Princess And The Frog Was Traditional, Not 3D, Animation
The Princess and the Frog was a throwback to Disney's Golden Age of classic animation, coming at a time of upheaval and change for the company.
While they didn't have a restaurant, they made home-cooked meals for all their neighbors, which always brought them all together in a moment of peace and joy. As Tiana is tested here in the movie so many times over, it is her belief in bringing people together that helps push her to find her way back and eventually realize her dreams by the movie's end. Of course, it's Naveen who teaches her to take a breather, and to focus on the people, and not just the finished product!
"She's Just Speaking Out Of A Broken Heart. That's All It Is."
Ray (Jim Cummings)
One of the biggest character traits of Ray the Firefly is that he is a hopeless romantic. He loves romance, whether it's between others or it is his great adoration for a star called Evangeline. His heart and celebration of love are perhaps his biggest strengths, and it drives him to help those he cares about. A bittersweet example is when Tiana, heartbroken in believing Naveen had left her for Lottie, angrily tells Ray that Evangeline is just a star and not a firefly.
Ray's love for Evangeline—and his adoration for Tiana and Naveen—is too great to be broken
Although tearful, Ray's love for Evangeline and his adoration for Tiana and Naveen is too great to be broken, and he is only driven to set things right - and to remind himself (and Evangeline) that Tiana doesn't mean to be hurtful. This was a sad moment in the movie where Tiana lashes out at a kindhearted friend because she is hurt. However, what makes this Princess and the Frog quote so special is that Ray is so kindhearted that he remains a friend and understands that sometimes people need to lash out to get past their own pain. The fact that he still finds his love for Evangeline to be real makes it funny as well.
"Y'all Want To Be Human, But You're Blind To What You Need!"
Mama Odie (Jenifer Lewis)
Voodoo queen Mama Odie doesn't get much screen time compared to the other main characters, but her debut is one of The Princess and the Frog. With her eccentric personality, invaluable advice, and singing one of the movie's best songs, she certainly makes an impact. It is Mama Odie who teaches Naveen and Tiana about figuring out what they need rather than what they want. This line is spoken before Mama Odie starts to sing the iconic 'Dig A Little Deeper.'
It's a fitting Princess and the Frog quote, as it is the start of teaching a key piece of advice. Ironically, Mama Odie is blind, so this adds some merit to the lessons that she wants to teach Tiana and Naveen. It also helps that she knows everything about the two, from their likes, dislikes, history, family relations, and desires, because she might be blind, but she is still all-seeing and knows what they are missing in their lives if they ever want to become human again - and eventually find love..
"Travis, When A Woman Says Later, She Really Means Not Ever."
Lottie/Charlotte La Bouff (Jennifer Cody)
While Lottie is a good-hearted person, she is also a very funny character throughout The Princess and the Frog. Like Naveen, she provides several comedic moments in the movie, and one such example is when she shoots down a doting irer at the masked ball while waiting impatiently for Naveen to arrive. What makes this scene so funny is that Lottie delivers the hurtfully true line in a cool and collected demeanor. It shatters Travis, but then something interesting happens.

Why Disney Princesses Can Never Acknowledge Each Other
Whenever the of the Disney Princess franchise are grouped together, they never look at each other, and there's a reason for that.
Once a despondent Travis leaves, Lottie goes into a frenzied panic at Naveen's absence and nearly storms off to her room crying, with mascara streaking down her face. Lottie delivers a line explaining what rejection looks like, and then she realizes that she might be facing a similar rejection herself. It is a nice moment, as Lottie might not understand that she is talking about herself as well, but she knows the same pain that she just delivered to someone else at the ball.
"Dreams Do Come True In New Orleans."
Tiana (Anika Noni Rose)
"Down in New Orleans," the opening song of The Princess and the Frog, sets the scene of the movie perfectly. It's an energetic opening number and showcases a variety of characters who reside in the famous city, including Facilier scamming an innocent citizen and Naveen as he arrives on a royal visit. The last line of the song, "dreams do come true in New Orleans," sums up the movie as a whole.
Almost all of the main protagonists have big dreams, from Tiana's dream to open a restaurant to Louis's dream of playing the trumpet with the jazz greats, and those dreams do ultimately come true. This is also the last line of the movie, but, this time, it's sung by Tiana. It is a perfect bookend that shows that this is not just the story of a Disney Princess whose dreams come true, but an entire community in New Orleans, with dreams and desires, who all find happiness at the end thanks to positive thinking... and hard work.
