When it comes to difficulty, the Legendary missions take the cake in Dark Hours raid, for now, but until the new raid comes out, the Legendary missions are almost neck-and-neck in the race of which is harder. The Dark Hours raid is more of a DPS check and the Legendary missions have a lot to do with versatility and planning. No team will succeed unless each member has a couple of solid builds to change to. More importantly, each successful run nets a chance for the exotic assault rifle called the Big Horn.
Having multiple builds is important as some areas will require different needs but more importantly, it's important to delegate roles for each member of the team. As a general guideline for the missions, two DPS builds, one crowd control build, and a healer-type build is recommended. These will switch to a few different ones throughout the missions but this should be the general mainframe for tackling the missions. Others that will be needed is a skill build with a general focus on Cluster Seekers and a tank-style build.
Basic Preparations for Legendary Missions in Division 2
With each mission, be sure that the DPS is as high as possible. This does go without saying but the higher the DPS, the better because there will be times when the movement will be limited to a small area, and taking down a Heavy Gunner with a healing backpack needs to be taken down quickly. A word of advice is the moment a Heavy Gunner shows their face, destroy their backpacks immediately. Some have healing and some have Stinger Hives attached to them and both spell death. Having the packs go down is the priority. Have one or maybe two Jammer Pulses on the team at the minimum depending on the situation. Warhounds can be the worst things on the battlefield and this will help to neutralize them if only for a second to get the kill. At least two Blinder Fireflies are a must for the crowd control aspect and the person running Crowd Control should have a 15-20 second duration on it to make life easier against enemies. A Restorer Hive is preferred for the healer of the group as dying will be a standard at first. Being healed quickly takes precedence over the revive which can be done manually by the healer. A final word on prep is even if the team completes the missions or wipes, the spawn points of the enemies as these are huge advantages to kill them and control them quickly.
How to Beat District Union Arena on Legendary in Division 2
Of the three Legendaries, this is the one that is the best to start with as it eases the team into the flow of how Legendaries work. Roosevelt is a bit more challenging due to the openness of the areas. The main focuses here should be to go from room to room but taking each room from the previous one to cause a funnel effect. Going into the same room with the enemies is a sure group wipe. The big trouble spots will be the first area going into the actual arena, the halfway point with the escalators, and the boss room. The first area, once the opening section is cleared, is a door that once opened and player step through, immediate crowd control with the blinders should be used. Immediately attack the healers and then the Heavy Gunners will appear. As long as they keep getting a continuous stream of Blinder Fireflies, they will be no problem. For the halfway point, take the fight from the entrance of the room. It will feel cramped but don't chase the enemies. They will come, and when they do, quick Blinders and focus fire on the Heavy Gunners to get through. The final room is where the pain truly happens. Stay at the opening area and stay along the wall to the left of where the entrance funnels through. After the second wave, healers will start to drop down and then need to be taken out immediately. Once they are dead, rotate to the far back of the room and clear off the small-time enemies before handling the boss. As for the boss, he has a long-range pulse but it can be mitigated by keeping him blinded. Continuously blind him and kill his pack first and he will go down soon after. Keep the team to the far edges of the map to avoid the pulse if he happens to let it fly.
How to Beat Roosevelt Island on Legendary in Division 2
Roosevelt Island s a bit trickier due to the open areas and lack of cover. There are a few problem spots in the mission to avoid such as the airplane tunnels, the open section where the gate that's opened with the C4 is, and the final area. The airplane tunnels are all about funneling. Use the Blinder Firefly as the last case emergency because the Heavy Gunners will keep coming and need to be taken down quickly. to destroy their backpacks immediately. Fall back if necessary as there won't be much in of good cover so don't hesitate to fall back at the first sign of trouble. The area with the C4 used on the gate can be managed not by taking the fight from where the C4 is planted but by taking it from where the tent is to get to the area where the C4 is located. The Hammer wielding enemies will come quickly and they will overwhelm the team but from the tent, there is a threshold they cannot continue from and it makes it easier to dispatch them. The final room is brutal and to top it off, a Recon Drone is flying above as well that will drop the team with its rockets given the chance. There are two ways to do this part. The longer version and safer one is to try and trigger the area before going over the wall. Doing this does take longer and it's recommended to have skill builds at the ready to do this. Throw seekers and use distance skills to whittle down the enemy. The other method is to keep the normal builds on and possibly switch off of the DPS to a tank-style build. Keep the aggro on the tank and crowd control like crazy to keep them from coming to the area on the right side of the map and immediately where the team drops in as this is going to be the main spots to hunker down.
How to Beat Capitol Building on Legendary in Division 2
This is the granddaddy of the Legendaries and the hardest mission in the game. Almost every part is difficult and requires lots of planning. The first area needs to be done patiently and from a distance, so sniper rifles, rifles, and anything that has some distance to it will be useful. Communication is important so call out one target and the team should take it out ASAP. Healers and Grenadiers should be the top priority. All rooms should be taken in the same format as the other Legendaries, from the previous room but there's a twist here. It's recommended to have a tank build to move in some of the rooms with a DPS to destroy any healing boxes the enemies have or it will take a very long time to move on. Have a seeker build as well to push the enemy when need. Once the team moves to the open area before having to rappel back into the building, there is a Heavy Gunner with a Stinger Hive backpack that will cause some problems so retreat to the previous room and throwing masses of seekers might be an option if necessary. The final area is where life is a nightmare. The enemies in the entire last room are going to come quickly and should be handled in the area when dropping in before hitting the button to open the final door. This is the team's Alamo and final position. Enemies will come fast and furious and expect to wipe a few times before getting the mechanics down. The priorities are to take out the Heavy Gunners' backpacks first. If they get too close, the hives will wipe the party easily. The next is to have a Sweet Dreams as a secondary weapon as multiple enemies will be coming in and melee killing the non-elites will be vital. The first enemies are Heavy Gunners and when they die, there is a transition phase where the portable bathrooms can be climbed upon and the team can move to another area. Move to the new area when they fall and take enemies out from a safer distance. Make sure the crowd control is in full effect or risk being overrun. Good luck!
