Publisher Ubisoft has announced that The Division 2 will receive a brand new game mode this year. The game, which launched in March of 2019, is an online action role-playing game where players explore a post-apocalyptic open-world Washington D.C. The Division 2 has seen frequent post-launch since its release, and it has been commended for making several improvements over its 2016 predecessor.

Last month, Ubisoft confirmed that The Division 2 would continue receiving re-runs of The Division 2's previous seasons. This means that once Year 2 Season 4 ends the game will revert back to Year 2 Season 1, in order to keep content fresh.

In a recent blog post, Ubisoft revealed that additional content for The Division 2 will include a brand new game mode. The game's next major update is said to include a game mode that has never been seen before in the Division franchise, meaning that the mode will be wholly original rather than pulled from the first installment. This new content is being developed by Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment veterans, with development being led by producer Adrian Trasca and associate creative director Yannick Banchereau. This new game mode will also be accompanied by new ways to progress players' agents.

Two years of is quite irable for a game that is not a massively-multiplayer role-playing game, so the continued release of post-launch content demonstrates the fanbase's dedication to the title. While only one new game mode has been announced so far, The Division 2 players are surely looking forward to any new content.
