Disney purchasing Fox will result in many changes, but there have been none so far for Noah Hawley's to acquire 20th Century Fox's TV and movie assets. The impact of such a deal is not going to be felt for about a year, which means several projects are left in limbo for the time being.

One of those projects is the Fargo creator Noah Hawley. The movie came out of nowhere last year when Hawley name dropped Doom as his next project. Since that point in time, there was never any movement on it, and the future of it began to be questioned after Fox sold. But so far, Hawley hasn't heard of any changes coming.

Collider spoke to Hawley at Fox's TCA today and asked him what impact the deal has had on Doctor Doom. Somewhat surprisingly, Hawley revealed that he hasn't been ed at all regarding the project, but fully expects to be once the deal is approved. Until that day comes however, Hawley is going to continue working.

I haven’t had a single conversation yet about Doom in the context of the merger. On some level, we’re still looking at a period of time – probably a year, at the least – for this whole thing to go through. Who knows, corporately, what conversations will be had, but certainly, until it goes through, it’s not a legal thing. I don’t know. I’ve been waiting for the phone to ring to see if anyone is gonna have an opinion. Otherwise, it’s just business as usual for me.

Doctor Doom pulls the strings

Once the Disney/Fox deal is legally approved, it may not be long after for Hawley to get that call. No one is quite sure what the future for Fox's Marvel characters will be, but it is expected they'll quickly be integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The finer details will depend on what Kevin Feige wants to do with these characters, and it may come at the cost of Hawley and other creators currently working on projects. If Marvel Studios wants to reboot, Hawley's Doctor Doom, Josh Boone's Multiple Man could all be scrapped or completely reconfigured.

When it comes to Hawley specifically and a potential Doctor Doom movie, hopefully this will be a project Marvel Studios embraces fully. Hawley continues to prove he's one of the top creators on television, and giving him the chance to bring Victor von Doom to the big screen properly in the MCU could be great. Doom is highly regarded as one of Marvel's best comic villains, and since the MCU is notoriously plagued by underwhelming villains, what better way to introduce a great one than with his own movie.
