Warning! Spoilers ahead for Black Cat #1 from Jed MacKay and C. F. Villa
Lately in Marvel Comics, Marvel's new King in Black event.
In 2019's Black Cat series from Jed MacKay, Black Cat broke into the Sanctum Sanctorum to steal the original deed to the island of Manhattan while the Master of the Mystic Arts was away traveling. Naturally, Black Cat was a bit out of her element when faced with all of the mystical oddities and dangers that reside in Strange's home, but she persevered none the less. Hardy broke in again even more recently at the request of Spider-Man. Black Cat was Peter Parker's back-up plan in case Doctor Strange refused to help him track down his new foe Kindred (and Strange did indeed refuse). With the knowledge that the Hand of Vishanti held the key to finding Kindred, Black Cat stole the magical artifact for Spider-Man when Strange wasn't looking. Spider-Man then promptly used the Hand of Vishanti without Strange's blessing, and it was all thanks to Felicia.
Now, Knull the Symbiote God has finally come to invade Earth with his legions of symbiotes, and Black Cat just got thrown into the mix as seen in the all-new Black Cat #1 from MacKay. While she was in the midst of an elaborate heist involving the stealing of already stolen cash, secret SHIELD subterranean tunnels, Before Captain America was likewise overwhelmed, he ordered the Black Cat to do the unthinkable: she must now attempt to steal Doctor Strange from Knull's grasp.
While Black Cat is probably one of the last individuals Doctor Strange would ever want to put his fate and trust in, he doesn't have much of a choice, as he's currently a part of Knull's symbiote horde. In any case, perhaps this might be Black Cat's opportunity to do some good while also making up for her dual robberies of the Sorcerer Supreme's belongings.
Black Cat is certainly one of Marvel Comics' more complex characters when it comes to her overall morality. In the end, she holds to her own personal code and ultimately does whatever she thinks is best. At the moment, that means trying to save the world by stealing Doctor Strange. After all, someone can't rob and steal from people if there's no one in the world to steal from because they've all been turned into symbiotes. Regardless, it looks like Doctor Strange isn't going to be rid of Black Cat just yet as King In Black continues from Marvel Comics.
