With a brand-new companion, many exciting guest stars, and even more creative adventures, Doctor Who’s new season is shaping up to be the show’s most exciting in a long while.

Perhaps more than any other show, Doctor Who is a project that’s always reimagining itself with new cast . There have been plenty of different lead actors since the show began in 1963, and while fans can argue forever about which version of the Doctor is the best, the truth is that every iteration of this show’s cast has something special about it; season 15 should be no different.

Ncuti Gatwa As The Doctor

Actor: Ncuti Gatwa was born in Nyarugenge, Rwanda, in October 1992 and moved to Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1994. Despite appearing in numerous television roles, it wasn’t until 2019’s Sex Education that Gatwa became an overnight star for his portrayal of Eric Effiong, one of the show’s most beloved characters. He was cast as The Doctor in Doctor Who while filming for Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, and has portrayed the character in the show’s fourteenth and fifteenth seasons.

Actor: Varada Sethu was born in Kerala, India, in May 1992 and is of Malayali ancestry. Sethu’s family moved to the North East of England, where she attended Dame Allan’s Schools and later ed the National Youth Theater. The actress landed her breakthrough role in Doctors as PC Kylie Green, a role which led to her appearing in projects such as Now You See Me 2 and Doctor Foster. She also portrayed Cinta Kaz in the first season of Disney’s Andor.

Millie Gibson As Ruby Sunday

Actor: Millie Gibson was born in Greater Manchester in 2004, where she attended the Blue Coat School in Oldham. The character appeared briefly as Ruby Sunday’s neighbor in season 14, before breaking the fourth wall and speaking directly to the audience about the Doctor’s past. Anita Dobson will reprise her role in the episodes, as the truth about her identity is hopefully revealed.

Jonah Hauer-King as TBC - The Little Mermaid’s Jonah Hauer-King has been cast in a major role in Doctor Who’s season, though details of his character have not yet been released. His previous credits include A Dog’s Way Home and The Tattooist of Auschwitz.

Susan Twist as Susan Triad - Susan Triad is officially returning to Doctor Who following her many cameos in the previous season, when it was revealed that she was an agent of Sutekh, leader of the Pantheon of Gods. It’s unclear exactly how her story will connect to the Doctor’s future adventures, though her involvement suggests that Russell T. Davies isn’t finished with Doctor Who’s new Pantheon of Gods.
