Susan Twist returns, as the The truth behind Twist's role would be revealed in Doctor Who season 14, where it was revealed that she was a weapon of classic villain Sutekh (Gabriel Woolfe).

After escaping Sutekh's control in season 14, Twist has been confirmed to reprise her role in Doctor Who season 15. In a post shared by the official Doctor Who Instagram , Twist's return was revealed, with Davies even humorously commenting "What? What???" as though surprised by the announcement. UNIT May Play A Key Role In One Companion's Journey

For Susan Triad, her return fulfills one idea that Davies had previously revealed he hoped to bring to screens throughout his current show-running tenure. Within season 14's commentaries and press tour, Davies had stated that he not only hoped to make UNIT a core ing element, but fill it with an ever-changing roster of allies that would be different every time the Doctor visited. While Triad's UNIT recruitment may not have been explicitly confirmed, her technology being part of the organization's systems and Kate's past offer make it likely that she is a fully-fledged member.

From early previews of Doctor Who season 15, it appears that 2025's new episodes will seemingly be divided into two separate storylines, one being the Fifteenth Doctor and new companion Belinda's (Varada Sethu) travels, and Ruby's time on Earth. Departing the TARDIS to get acquainted with her newly-found mother, trailers and previews have shown Ruby taking charge during an alien incursion and standing in the UNIT control room. As such, Triad may play a ing role in Ruby's story.

The Character Has Near Limitless Potential

Having been present since the first episode of Davies' Doctor Who return, UNIT are a key part of the showrunner's new tenure. Not only have they played key parts in the pivotal episodes of the 60th Anniversary and season 14, but are set to be the focus of the first spin-off of the era, The War Between The Land and Sea. As such, Triad's recruitment into the organization allows it to grow into an Earth-defending force to be reckoned with.

Furthermore, with Triad free of Sutekh's influence, Twist may be given the opportunity to define the character as her own. One critique of Twist's major Doctor Who character was her lack of defining traits due to her being a tool of Sutekh. As such, further appearances in both the main show and other potential spin-offs could add greater depth to Twist's main character.
