Don't Look Up might have had a polarizing reception from critics, but there's no denying that the 2021 movie has an outstanding ensemble cast of A-listers. And with all that talent, it makes for some of the most fascinatingly defined and unique characters possible.

Between ive-aggressive politicians, spiritless scientists, and sociopathic billionaires, the characters of Don't Look Up would make for a great fans wanting a Don't Look Up sequel, given the social commentary on the climate change crisis, a follow-up could be a Squid Game or Hunger Games-like satire that's a social commentary on class disparity.

Yule

Yule looking serious in Don't Look Up

When Yule (Timothée Chalamet) is first introduced in the movie when he's stealing snacks and alcohol from a grocery store, he comes off as cocky and confrontational. But it's quickly revealed that personality is just a facade to seem more confident than he actually is, and in reality, he's a timid, shy, and ultimately inexperienced teenager.

Whenever Yule was in the movie, he was made a mockery of, even if some of it wasn't deserved, but he had no backbone and was always too scared to stand up for himself. That kind of behavior would get him nowhere in the Hunger Games, and if he was in the arena, he'd probably get comfortable, get high, and eat snacks until his inevitable fate arrived.

Randall Mindy

The well-educated astronomer is great at a lot of things, but confrontation isn't one of them. Randall Mindy (Leonardo DiCaprio) rarely ever spoke up for himself and never voiced his opinions when it really mattered. The character would never be the first to throw a punch, and he certainly wouldn't be willing to kill somebody.

Not only that, but the character is so out of shape, and as his wife angrily threw them at him, it's revealed that Randall is on a lot of medication too. Without the medication, there isn't going to be a whole lot of movement in the arena from Randall. There was one occasion when he was able to show the ferocity he needed to on live television, but that was more of a breakdown than anything. And even then, people still didn't listen to him and he went back into his shell.

Jason Orlean

Jason Orlean (Jonah Hill) is like a beagle; his bark is much worse than his bite, and that's if he bites at all. The character is so ridiculous that he carries around a $30,000 Birkin bag with nuclear codes in it, which was actually Jonah Hill's idea, according to Netflix. And anybody that reckless couldn't possibly last long in the Hunger Games arena.

Though Jason might have some great intimidation tactics, as he got a kick out of putting a bag over Kate's head at any chance he got, he wouldn't stand a chance if it actually came down to a one-on-one battle. He's almost like the Don't Look Up counterpart to The Hunger Games' Peeta, as he'd spend the whole time hiding. And even though Jason survived the comet, that was sheer luck.

Brie Evantee

Of all the seemingly nihilistic and self-loathing characters in the 2021 movie, Brie Evantee (Cate Blanchett) is easily the most uncaring, which is what makes it one of the funniest performances in Don't Look Up. The character can forget her best friends ever existed in the blink of an eye, and she uses anyone and everyone for her own pleasure-seeking ways without ever getting remotely attached.

In the arena, Brie could leave all of her baggage at the door, and when picking off her opponents, she probably wouldn't even that she had some sort of a relationship with them. That's part of what makes the character such a realistic satire of daytime news hosts, and also why she'd be a wild card in the Hunger Games.

Kate Dibiasky

Kate looking angry in Don't Look Up

Like Jason, Kate (Jennifer Lawrence) has a loud bark, but unlike Jason, she'll probably bite pretty hard too. Throughout the whole movie, Jason treated her terribly, and she would have loved nothing more than to have gotten her own back. As great as the movie is, that's one of Don't Look Up's shortcomings, as it would have been so gratifying as a viewer to have seen Kate get ice-cold revenge on Jason.

Throughout the whole movie, Kate has a fiery and sometimes unnerving personality. She questions everything, whether it's how much the cost of snacks are in the White House or what "sit tight and assess" really means, and that kind of untrusting behavior is the perfect way to go into the Hunger Games. And as her constant outrage intimidates everyone she comes into with, even her own parents, her opponents in the arena would be scared to even approach her.

Peter Isherwell

Peter naked on an unknown planet in Don't Look Up

Whether it's because he has spent too much time with technology or because that's the kind of socially inept personality that geniuses tend to have, Peter Isherwell (Mark Rylance) is so detached from reality. He doesn't show much empathy or have any worth for human life. And though it was simply a mid-credits gag, Peter showed no remorse for Janie when she was eaten by a Bronteroc.

Because of that, in theory, the most intelligent Don't Look Up character would do well in the Hunger Games, as he wouldn't feel anything when taking other people's lives. He also has such a presence that commands power over people in the room, as they'll do anything he asks, and that'd serve him well in the arena too.

Benedict Drask

Amongst all the ive-aggressive politicians and cowardly scientists, there is one character who is a true machine and isn't afraid to get his hands dirty. Benedict Drask (Ron Perlman) is a colonel who leads the nuclear strike on the comet, and though that mission backfired, he still showed how willing he was to tackle the comet head-on.

And following that, Drask proved to be such an alpha male that he literally started shooting at the comet with a handgun. Drask might even be excited to throw his hat in the ring for the Hunger Games. Few other opponents would be as daring as him, especially as he hints at his gruesome history when he yells, "You ever see inside a man's torso?!," which is one of the best quotes of Don't Look Up.

Janie Orlean

Janie Orlean (Meryl Streep) wouldn't be as powerful as she was without everybody else propping her up, but it was her fear-mongering and intimidating that got her to that point. However, not only did Orlean get as far as she did because she's the President of the United States, but because she was able to adapt to any situation she was in, even if she was completely fake.

Every Hunger Games fan knows that the terrain of the arena can differ, but there can also be strange beasts and creatures in there too. Unless a Bronteroc appears, Janie Orlean would mostly be safe, and she'd throw everybody under the bus until she was the last person standing.
