Publisher DOOM Eternal's next DLC this week. The two companies are evidently keeping their word.

DOOM Eternal's initial campaign expansion, The Ancient Gods - Part One, launched last October, allowing players to dive into brand-new levels and fresh story content, all while taking on new enemies. What exactly id has in store for The Ancient Gods - Part Two remains a mystery, though recently leaked screenshots and Steam Achievements offered a quick glimpse at the locales, enemies, and challenges that await.

With Part Two's first full trailer imminent, Bethesda has released an official teaser. As one would expect, it's an incredibly brief look at what's to come, though the clip does provide a quick glimpse at some mechs and Doom Slayer's new sledgehammer weapon. It seems safe to assume the sledgehammer will fast become a fan-favorite weapon, given the teaser's sneak peek at how Doom Slayer wields it. Fans can expect to see even more of this addition to Doom Slayer's arsenal when the complete trailer goes live in a couple of days on Wednesday, March 17.

The above teaser makes no mention of a release date for The Ancient Gods - Part Two; it stands to reason, then, that id Software and Bethesda will share this particular detail once the full trailer drops. This bit of information isn't all that fans are patiently awaiting, though, since news about DOOM Eternal's next-gen update has gone quiet in recent months. But perhaps id will begin to share more once all of the post-launch content is out in the wild?

Bethesda doesn't usually reveal sales data publicly, but there's plenty to suggest the latest entry in the DOOM franchise was nothing short of a success. Most notably, DOOM Eternal reportedly raked in $450 million in profits within nine months of its March 2020 release. That earnings figure is sure to increase once the second DLC arrives this spring.
