Superman has long wished there was a way to get rid of the monstrous Doomsday forever, especially given his recent threats in the pages of Superman. As seen in Superman #21 by Joshua Williamson and Dan Mora, Superman finally has a chance to be rid of Doomsday once and for all.

The Aftermath Has Arrived to Take Revenge on Doomsday
Superman #21 by Joshua Williamson, Dan Mora, Alejandro Sánchez, and Ariana Maher
Superman has recently been lamenting that he can't seem to be rid of Doomsday. No matter what he does, Doomsday is a constant threat to the lives of the Super-Family. Even after killing Doomsday and sending him to Hell, the beast simply returned, stronger than ever. Now, Superman has been informed by a future version of Doomsday that their battle will continue until the end of the universe. Superman and Doomsday are destined to be the final hero and villain, perpetually locked in battle. This outcome is an incredibly dark future for Superman, and it's horrific to learn that he will likely never be free of one of his worst villains.
Enter the Aftermath, a coalition of alien worlds that were decimated by Doomsday who have pooled together all of their resources and arrived on Earth to take revenge on Doomsday once and for all. While it's not clear exactly how they plan to kill him or what they plan to do with him, they wouldn't have traveled this far without a plan. They've likely put together some manner of weapon or prison that can either kill or hold Doomsday forever. While Doomsday is certainly dangerous, he's not exactly intelligent, and the Aftermath might be one foe he cannot defeat.

Doomsday Is a DC Calamity, And These 10 Superpowers Prove the Being Is a God
Superman regularly goes up against some of the most powerful villains the DC Universe has to offer, but Doomsday stands above most of them.
Doomsday has never really gone up against someone who explicitly planned to defeat him. The closest he's gotten is in Superman / Doomsday: Hunter / Prey by Dan Jurgens, Brett Breeding, Gregory Wright, and Bill Oakley, where Superman wore an amazing '90s suit specifically designed to kill Doomsday. Even then, Doomsday was mostly unfazed and didn't really need to change his tactics while fighting Superman. Surprisingly, Superman hasn't seemed to put much thought into how to defeat Doomsday permanently, but there's no doubt that the Aftermath has - after all, their leaders already killed Doomsday once.
The Aftermath Is Led by the First People to Kill Doomsday
The Calatonians Nearly Destroyed Doomsday Long Before He Got to Earth
Before Doomsday arrived on Earth, he traveled around the universe and destroyed countless planets. Doomsday even stole a Green Lantern ring and used it to travel through space for a time. Eventually, Doomsday ended up on the planet of Calaton, and as he rampaged across its cities, he encountered the first enemy he couldn't kill. Seeing their planet in imminent peril, the royal house sacrificed themselves to summon their champion, Radiant. Radiant was a being made of pure energy and seemed to be DC's version of Silver Surfer. Radiant was the first person to kill Doomsday after he escaped Krypton.
The Aftermath have had years to plan what to do with Doomsday once they finally find him.
That battle was nearly the end of Doomsday's story. If the Calatonians had simply destroyed Doomsday's body then and there, it's very likely that he wouldn't have been able to revive and evolve. Instead, due to their customs, they wrapped him in their burial garb and sent him off into outer space. That choice was their biggest mistake, as Doomsday revived and evolved, and years later returned to Calaton. While Radiant again faced off against Doomsday, he didn't win this time. Doomsday killed Radiant, and his battle with Superman obliterated half of their planet.
Doomsday's Past Has Finally Caught Up To Him
Superman: The Man of Steel #18 by Louise Jones Simonson, Jon Bogdanove, Dennis Janke, Glenn Whitmore, and Bill Oakley
There are tons of dangerous and powerful aliens in the DC Universe, and Doomsday has made enemies of a lot of them. The Calatonians have already proved once that they're capable of killing Doomsday. With an entire armada of aliens behind them and significantly more resources, it's easy to imagine that they'll find a way to kill him again. After all, they've had years to plan what to do with Doomsday once they finally find him. While Superman has been desperate to find a solution for his Doomsday problem, he might finally have found the answer, as all of Doomsday's victims have returned for one final battle against him.
