Warning! Contains Spoilers For Superman #22!
Doomsday is one of the hardest villains to get rid of due to the fact that he can not be killed or contained – but Lex Luthor has come up with a solution to the Doomsday problem that is actually ridiculous. Anything that kills Doomsday won't be as effective when he inevitably resurrects, something that Luthor thinks he might be able to compensate for.
Superman #22 – written by Joshua Williamson, with art by Dan Mora – finds Superman struggling to find a way to contain Doomsday, when he is offered a deal by a new galactic force. This force wants to take Doomsday off Superman's hands to punish Doomsday themselves.
While this seems like a dream come true, Superman doesn't fully trust this new faction. Since Doomsday was designed as a weapon, Superman worries that they will also want Doomsday as a weapon. Thankfully, it seems that Lex Luthor has come up with a plan to contain Doomsday.
Lex Luthor Might Finally Beat Doomsday, In A Surprising Turn For The Two Longtime DC Antagonists
Superman #22 – Written By Joshua Williamson; Art By Dan Mora; Color By Alejandro Sanchez; Lettering By Ariana Maher
It's not currently clear what Lex Luthor's plan for Doomsday is, but it's possible to make a pretty decent guess. Lex Luthor has a flash of one of his lost memories, as he re working alongside Brainiac. This was at a point where Brainiac had shrunk a bunch of heroes down and was containing them in jars. It's possible that Lex Luthor's plan will be the same, to simply shrink Doomsday down and stuff him in a jar to keep him contained. While this plan is ridiculously simple, it's also very possible that it could work against Doomsday.

Hulk vs Doomsday: The Victor Is Clear And Marvel Already Knows It
Hulk and Doomsday are two of the most powerful beings in the comic industry, with Marvel setting the record straight about who would win in a fight.
Doomsday's powers of evolution only activate when he dies. If Doomsday is simply contained, then he won't be able to escape. The problem is that containing him is incredibly hard. Superman has tried putting him in the Phantom Zone and Doomsday still broke out. But with Brainiac's technology, Doomsday's strength may be diminished along with his size. After all, it was Brainiac's tech that contained an entire city of Kryptonians. It's very possible that Brainiac could similarly trap Doomsday, and his evolution powers wouldn't be able to do anything to help him get free in such a situation.
Lex Luthor Thinks Brainiac's Technology Could Be The Key To Defeating Doomsday
A Desperate Move That Just Might Work
Doomsday has been a consistent thorn in Superman's side for decades. Nothing Superman has tried has managed to keep Doomsday trapped. He tried the Phantom Zone, but Doomsday simply punched his way out of it. Superman tried trapping Doomsday in an endless teleportation loop, but he managed to escape that as well. It seems that the only option Superman has to finally be free of Doomsday is to rely on Lex Luthor, and hope that this goofy plan is the one that works.
Lex's plan is wild and desperate, but it may very well work.
Lex Luthor is one of the smartest men on the planet and closely worked together with Brainiac for a time. While it's true that he's lost his memory, it also wouldn't be surprising if Lex Luthor is capable of figuring out Brainiac's technology. From there, he'd just need Superman to create an indestructible bottle to stuff Doomsday in after shrinking him. Lex's plan is wild and desperate, but it may very well work. Doomsday's powers of evolution only help him evolve in response to defeat. Being trapped in a bottle isn't going to trigger his powers, which means that Doomsday might be beaten.
