Dragon Ball Daima continues its trend to keep fans guessing with every new episode. Having been introduced as a creation of Marba, the witch who created Majin Buu, Majin Kuu seemed to be a promising new enemy for Goku and his friends to challenge. However, in Daima’s most recent twist, Majin Kuu left fans dumbfounded after his less-then-exciting battle with the Demon Realm’s Tamagamis.

Instead of meeting Marba and Dr. Arinsu’s expectations, Majin Kuu’s attempt at fighting against the Tamagami was a heavily one-sided battle. This left fans questioning not only his usefulness but also whether he is suited to combat at all. The only thing that is certain is that Dragon Ball Daima will continue to keep fans on their toes throughout the season, and Majin Kuu's arrival is no exception.

Majin Kuu Seems to Have Failed to Live Up to the Hype Surrounding His Debut

Majin Kuu's Battle With the Tamagami of the First Demon World Was Extremely Underwhelming

When Majin Kuu made his debut in episode 9, he seemed to be set up to become the next greatest villain. With his loyalty to Arinsu, there would have been no risk of him going rogue as Majin Buu had with Babidi, effectively creating a powerful Majin who was under the command of one of the smartest characters in the series. Fans expected Kuu to be a force of nature, especially with his arrogance going into the battle with the Tamagami and the fact that he is designed to rival and sur Buu.

However, expectations were quickly deflated when Majin Kuu couldn’t so much as land a scratch on the first Tamagami. His attempts were almost comical when compared to Goku, who hadn’t broken a sweat against the third Tamagami. The gap in Majin Kuu’s ability shattered the immediate expectation that he would become the series’ next greatest threat, much less a rival to Goku.

Majin Kuu May Have a Very Different Role Than Fans Initially Expected

He Can Sing and Run Errands, but Defeating a Tamagami Isn’t Kuu’s Strong Suit

Majin Kuu’s inability to defeat the first Tamagami completely redefined what his role may be in the series going forward. When Arinsu declared that she would be firing him for his failure, Kuu’s reaction was far from what fans would expect from a powerful antagonist. Instead of doubling down or trying to prove his strength, Kuu acknowledged the Tamagami’s power and suggested that he may be better suited to tasks such as singing or running errands.

Dr. Arinsu herself looked taken aback by Kuu’s suggestion, further adding to the mystery surrounding his character. Majin Kuu’s attempt to position himself as useful outside of combat roles suggests that his strength may lie in unconventional areas rather than in raw power. While his combat ability seemed to fall short, he made a point to mention his speed, which may become his greatest strength going forward. Despite not being as powerful as many fans expected, Dragon Ball Daima has proved its knack for unexpected twists, meaning that Majin Kuu could still become a worthy adversary for Goku and his friends.
