While Majin Dragon Ball, there’s one thing that all fans can agree on: he's one of the saga's most badass characters. Not only did he batter Goku into the side of a mountain, but he did so with glee. Nowhere is Majin Vegeta’s strength and power demonstrated better, however, than in a new piece of awesome fan art.

The fan art, which was posted by designer and illustrator, IsaCobo on the Dragon Ball Z subreddit, features Majin Vegeta in full "berserker mode". Not only does the image emphasize the raw physicality of Vegeta's vicious form, but also the spectacular intensity of the magic-induced Saiyan prince freed to let his personal demons take control of his emotions.

Majin Vegeta's fight was depicted with great intensity in the manga and anime, but IsoCobo's fan art elevates that intensity even further. Indeed, a viewer can almost feel Majin Vegeta's pain, anguish, and rage.

To Fight Goku, Vegeta Was Willing To Become a Villain

This illustration takes a realistic approach that is more akin to Western superhero comics than manga. Vegeta is depicted as a massive, muscular being (in contrast to his rather small frame in Dragon Ball), with a determined look on his face which, however, doesn't hide a hint of sadness, a great touch from the author that connects to Majin Vegeta's story.

Majin Vegeta made his appearance during the Majin Buu saga. After Goku's death during his fight with Cell, Vegeta gradually came to accept that Goku might have been the better warrior. He also appeared to have overcome his intense ambition to not only restore the Saiyan warrior tradition but also secure his own legacy as one of the greatest Saiyans in history, all in favor of a quiet life with his family on Earth.

The personal peace Vegeta had found was rent asunder with Goku’s return. Vegeta's "good place" was further shattered when he discovered that even in the afterlife, Goku still managed to sur him. Indeed, it was tough for Vegeta to accept, especially when considering how he'd devoted every spare moment to training and perfecting himself, striving to become the ultimate warrior he had always aspired to be.

This is when Vegeta takes Babidy's offer and accepts the power-up bestowed by the evil wizard's magic, forcing Goku to fight him by killing innocent bystanders. Although the Majin Vegeta-Goku fight is just one element of the larger and wider Majin Buu story arc, it is one of the franchise's most moving explorations of Vegeta’s character. It perfectly highlights Vegeta’s ever-present frustration and shows just how deep he was willing to go to satisfy his pride.

IsoCobo's fan art captures all these various elements in one image. Vegeta is angry at and resentful of Goku and his uncanny ability to succeed. While he's barely able to keep these emotions under control in normal circumstances, Babidi's magic breaks down any barriers to resistance.
