With Dragon Ball Daima now over, the one thing Dragon Ball fans have left to look forward to is the eventual return of Dragon Ball Super. Granted, there hasn’t been any direct confirmation that the manga will return anytime soon, if at all, but comments from Toyotarou suggest an intent to continue the story, so it should only be a matter of time before it finally happens.

The return of the Dragon Ball Super manga will be amazing all on its own, but it will especially be great because of Frieza. The Granolah the Survivor saga ended on a major cliffhanger of Frieza’s new Black Frieza form, with its power making him strong enough to deal with Goku and Vegeta in their strongest forms at the same time. Dragon Ball Super’s next arc will undoubtedly focus on dealing with Black Frieza, and with everything that’s been established, Dragon Ball Super’s incoming Black Frieza arc has the chance to be Dragon Ball’s greatest arc of all time.

Black Frieza Will Push Dragon Ball Super’s Strongest Heroes To Their Limits

Black Frieza Will Be Goku And His Friends' Toughest Challenge Yet

The first big reason why the Black Frieza arc will be exciting is because of how the basic conflict will play out. Goku and Vegeta fighting Frieza is a given, but with how strong Frieza is, Gohan, Piccolo, and Broly will inevitably get drawn into the conflict, as they’re the only ones aside from Beerus and Whis with power comparable to Goku and Vegeta at their peak. Dragon Ball Super’s Black Frieza arc will be exciting because it will force Dragon Ball’s strongest heroes to work together to defeat Frieza, and something like that would be well worth the wait.

Something also worth considering is how far Frieza will inevitably push everyone. Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo, and Broly will undoubtedly end up using their strongest forms against Frieza, but considering how easily Frieza took down Goku and Vegeta at the same time in Black Frieza’s debut, even the five of them working together might not be enough to deal with him. As such, Dragon Ball Super’s Black Frieza arc could force Goku and his friends to somehow become even stronger to deal with Black Frieza, and something like that could be great to see.

Dragon Ball Super’s Black Frieza Arc Can Finally Pay Off One Major Plot Thread

Dragon Ball Has One Story That Needs To Be Resolved

Dragon Ball's Broly surging with power.

Another reason why the Black Frieza arc will be exciting is that it can finally pay off a major plot thread from Dragon Ball Super: Broly. At the end of Broly, Frieza said he wanted to find a way to manipulate Broly again in the future, but even after almost a decade, nothing has come of that in the slightest. Much of that has been because of Frieza and Broly’s lack of appearances, but with the next arc undoubtedly featuring both of them, Dragon Ball Super’s Black Frieza arc can finally show Frieza trying to manipulate Broly again.

Considering how this version of Broly is written, Frieza wouldn’t be able to permanently keep Broly on his side, especially if Broly learns that Frieza killed Paragus. That being said, even if Broly is just temporarily turned against the heroes, it would serve as a great way of showing how much stronger Goku and Vegeta have become, and it would allow for the return of Broly’s iconic gimmick of always yelling Kakarot, as well. Whatever the case, Frieza manipulating Broly, even temporarily, could lead to plenty of great development for Broly and other characters, and that’s plenty worth getting excited about.

Dragon Ball Super’s Black Frieza Arc Will Be The Frieza Revival Fans Deserved

The Black Frieza Arc Will Give Frieza The Respect He Deserves

Vegeta rememebers Black Frieza in chapter 88

The biggest reason why the Black Frieza arc will be great is that it will be a true revival for Frieza. While Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’ was sold on bringing Frieza back, it ultimately failed at doing so because of how much Frieza was treated as a joke and the overall poor quality of the film. Frieza had a much better showing in the Tournament of Power, but even then, he was still just a ing character, so overall, Dragon Ball Super has yet to give Frieza a role that truly befits the impact of his revival.

With how powerful Black Frieza is, not only will he finally be the strongest villain again after Resurrection ‘F’ missed the mark, but it will allow the entertainingly sadistic nature of his character to become even more apparent, so Dragon Ball Super’s Black Frieza arc is exciting because Frieza will finally have a chance to shine as a villain again for the first time since Dragon Ball Z. All of that will make his eventual defeat especially cathartic, of course, and hopefully, it won’t be too long before Dragon Ball Super finally makes it happen.
