Dragon Ball: The Breakers has only just recently been released, and with its worldwide positive reception, the live-service game will surely receive future content updates both to its list of usable skills and playable villains. But until that time comes, players should take advantage of the low list of skills right now to get the best ones.

The game uses gacha mechanics to deal out skills, and to obtain one a player needs to spend currency and hope the game gives it to them. With the list of available skills right now, it's easier to gain the most valuable skills before more useless ones enter the pool of obtainable.

The Grappling Hook

Dragon Ball - The Breakers player escaping from Cell using the Grappling Hook

The Grappling Hook is a default skill every player has upon starting the game, however that doesn't mean it should be looked down upon just because of how common it is. With an unbelievable range and travel speed, the Grappling Hook is a life-saving tool that can turn the direst of situations around.

All a player has to do is press the command for the device and aim the green display to their targeted location, and within seconds they'll be there. Just like that, a player can evade certain doom. Though players should be aware the tool has a 60-second cooldown by default.

Solar Flare

Krillin from Dragon Ball using Solar Flare

In one of the main character's most iconic scenes, Krillin bisects the tail of Frieza, an enemy who could kill him in a single move, using a Destructo Disk. And as a distraction, he even hits the galactic empower with the Solar Flare move, successfully stunning and blinding him.

Thankfully, the second skill happens to work the same way in the game. By using Solar Flare a player can stun the enemy for 8 seconds, opening an opportunity to escape while leaving the Raider stuck in place. And with a cooldown of only 30 seconds, this skill is practically free to use whenever in a pinch.

Kaioken Rush

Goku using Kaioken in Dragon Ball Fighter Z

Obtainable at the ticket shop via chance, the Kaioken Rush takes an iconic move in the series and turns it into one of the best in the game. For a short duration, the player is wrapped in the red powerful aura, after a short duration, they charge forward in the blink of an eye.

This skill is great at closing gaps between the survivor and the Raider, as it can be used both to get away and get closer. Coming in with the Raider will cause the player to punch it, briefly stunning them. Players should be aware however that this skill has a cooldown of 60-seconds, so usage should be prioritized on running away unless powered up.

Change Missile

Oolong in Dragon Ball - The Breakers

The default skill of the shape-shifting pig, Oolong, Change Missile does exactly as the name says. Upon activation, the player will transform into a missile and soar to whatever direction they were facing at the time, though the missile can be guided via controls elsewhere.

Players should note that the duration of the skill is very, about 10 seconds. But even then it could be used to flee horrible situations. The fact that the player becomes something the Raider wouldn't expect also makes it great for fleeing. It can also be used to climb to higher elevations and obtain otherwise unreachable items. With a cooldown of 30 seconds, this skill is great for exploring.

Saiyan Pod

Saiyan Pod from Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

As the strongest character during the Saiyan Saga, Vegeta and his goons first arrive at Earth using a pod for intergalactic travel. That pod canonically would then be used to design Earth's first advanced spaceships by Bulma. In a way, the advanced technology of such devices transferred to the game as well.

5 seconds after use, the Saiyan Pod skill deploys a pod at the location the player was standing. By using it a player can instantaneously travel across the map in a blur, fleeing from the Raider almost immediately whilst leaving no trace. With a cooldown of 90 seconds, it's a life-saving skill that should be used only when needed.

Capsule

Dragon Ball capsules

Created by one of the most intelligent characters in the Dragon Ball series, Dr. Brief, capsule technology is used for compacting vehicles and items in a small pill-shaped capsule. This essentially allows for a person to carry anything on them no matter the weight or size.

And as such, Bulma happens to use it in the game to make a somewhat speedy escape, or for players who just don't want to walk everywhere. With a 60-second cooldown, the Capsule skill deploys a motor vehicle for players to use. And while it's a bit slow, in a game like Dragon Ball: The Breakers, players will need to be as fast as they can if they want to survive.

Charming Pose

Bulma in Dragon Ball - The Breakers

For being a starter character, Bulma possesses quite a few abilities that could save the lives of both the player and their team. One such ability would be Charming Pose. With a short activation time, the player can activate it and distract an enemy for 5 seconds. This is great for allowing teammates to flee, but not so great for the .

To use the skill the player must be close to the Raider and immobile, meaning once the effects wane the Raider will have every opportunity to slay the survivor in front of them as revenge. Unless used in conjunction with evasive skills this could practically mean unavoidable death.

Change Camouflage

Oolong from Dragon Ball

Despite being one of the weakest characters in the Dragon Ball Series, Oolong has a slew of abilities that perfectly suit his fearful and weak nature. In addition to transforming and taking the properties of something dangerous like a missile, Oolong can transform into mundane objects or furniture to blend in with his surroundings.

Such a skill is obviously useful for a number of reasons, one of which is blending in and hiding from the Raider. It can be used to simply be unseen or used tactically when running away while wounded. In that way, it can save a player's life. And with a cooldown of only 30 seconds, it's quite cheap.

Kaioken Assault

Kaioken from Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

As a move that can only be used when in a transformed state, the Kaioken Assault hurls the player toward an enemy at startling speeds. It costs an astoundingly 20,000 Spirit energy to use but if used appropriately it can cause tons of damage to a Raider.

The player will scream and then charge forward wrapped in a red aura, both indications which are extremely obvious to the Raider. This is why the skill shouldn't be used unless low on health. Upon making , the player will launch a flurry of fists which the Raider can't do anything about other than watch as it tears out a chunk of their health.

Smoke Screen

Dragon Ball The Breakers smoke screen

One of the most powerful tools available to the Raider when launching attacks is the almighty lock-on function, so long as the Raider is locked on to an opponent, most of the time whatever attack they launch will come in . This is why it's amazing when something as simple as a Smoke Screen can break it.

As per its intended use, the Smoke Screen is great for running away. With it, even if a player were to turn their back from a powerful beam attack, they could run with confidence knowing they're unlikely to be hit.
