The Z Fighters are among the strongest warriors in the universe. They are unmatched in physical combat, excelling in the ancient discipline of the martial arts. They are also masters of different energy attacks like the Kamehameha, plus numerous other techniques. In short, no one stands a chance against them.

While the Z Fighters truly are the best of the best, and have some impressive specimens on their ranks, some definitely outrank others. It might not be a competition, but if it was, pretty much everyone knows who'd win.

Videl

Videl is one of the strongest humans on the planet, that's for sure. She is also quite capable, mastering the art of flight by sheer force of will. She's as strong, fast, and enduring as a young person of her age, height, and build can possibly be.

However, Videl will never compare to the other Z Fighters, and she knows it. Still, the fact that she, a human with no special abilities whatsoever, manages to achieve so much is more than enough for the other Z Fighters to respect her. Videl may never be a pro like her husband or his family, but she's no damsel in distress.

Yamcha

Like Videl, Yamcha is at the peak of human condition. He's as strong as a mortal man can be, and his abilities allow him to always come out on top. His enemies constantly underestimate him, something he uses in his favor. Yamcha spends his time in the anime training under different masters, including Roshi, Kami, and King Kai, eventually reaching the peak of his power during the Cell saga.

Yamcha eventually gives up martial arts and spends most of the Buu arc on the sidelines. He may never match the Saiyan's power, but he doesn't have to. He's a valuable and trusted ally of Goku's and a true friend to the Z Fighters.

Krillin

Krillin is arguably the strongest human warrior. Introduced in the original anime, he becomes comedic relief as the series goes on but proves himself an invaluable ally more than once. During the Saiyan saga, he even manages to kill most Saibanmen using his Scattering Bullet technique. He also fights during the Cell Games and memorably manages to hit Imperfect Cell in the stomach.

Krillin also gives up martial arts when he settles down with Android 18, but he retains most of his training. He easily defeats his opponent during the 25th World Martial Arts Tournament, cementing his place as the most powerful Earthling.

Android 18

Although she starts as a villain, Android 18 eventually redeems herself and becomes a member of the Z Fighters. When she first enters the picture, she's exceptionally strong and a real menace for Goku and his friends. Her most significant trait is her seemingly inexhaustible energy supply, which seems to prevent her from getting tired or worn out in battle.

During the 25th World Martial Arts Tournament, she is able to go toe to toe with Trunks and Goten. In Dragon Ball Super, she s Team Universe 7 for the Tournament of Power, confirming her status as one of the franchise's top fighters.

Piccolo

Like Android 18, Piccolo starts as a villain but ends as one of the franchise's most beloved characters. He is the strongest Namekian, capable of standing up to Super Saiyans. In the anime, Piccolo exists in a middle station, outranking every human but still existing below the power levels of the Saiyans.

When he fuses with Kami during the Cell Saga, his power arguably sures that of Goku. However, he is back to his previous self in the Majin Buu saga, where he resumes his role as a mentor for the younger generations. During the Tournament of Destroyers, he holds his own against Frost, even if he's not capable of winning the match.

Goten

Goten is considerably powerful. He can become a Super Saiyan despite his young age, surprising both Gohan and Goku. Goten is pretty well-matched with Trunks, but his naivete puts him at an immediate disadvantage. But as a Super Saiyan, Goten is initially able to give Gohan some problems. His power also impresses Piccolo, who trains them during the Majin Buu saga.

In Dragon Ball Super, Goten always fights with Trunks. However, he is still in an inferior position because he lacks the maturity and clear-headedness to face any real threat.

Trunks

Child Trunks, like Goten, is stubborn, hot-headed, and inexperienced. He's slightly more powerful than Goten, but this changes after the two train for their fight with Majin Buu. In Dragon Ball Super, Trunks loses some of his power due to him slacking in his training but remains a formidable opponent.

Future Trunks also holds considerable power, even achieving Super Saiyan Rage. His strength level varies throughout his journey in the anime, and at different moments he matches the power of Goku, Vegeta, and Future Gohan.

Gohan

Ultimate Gohan fighting against Majin Buu

During the Cell saga, and especially during the Majin Buu arc, Gohan is arguably the strongest Z Warrior. His power is off the charts, and by the time Old Kai unlocks his real potential, he's sured all his boundaries. Ultimate Gohan doesn't stay too long in the picture, but he makes enough of an impression to become iconic.

Gohan stops training after Majin Buu's defeat, and his power decreases considerably. However, he goes back to martial arts in Dragon Ball Super, quickly returning to the peak of his strength. In fact, both Goku and Vegeta agree that Gohan's potential exceeds theirs, even if his power still isn't there.

Vegeta

Vegeta becomes Super Saiyan Blue

Goku's eternal rival, Vegeta is also the being who comes the closest to Goku's might. He is one of the fiercest and most powerful warriors in the entire multiverse, a worthy heir to the Saiyan throne. For most of the anime, his sole purpose is to beat Goku, and he goes to great lengths to achieve his goal.

In Dragon Ball Super, and after training with Whis on Berus' planet, Vegeta possibly becomes stronger than Goku himself. As Super Saiyan Blue, Vegeta can go against the mightiest of characters, like Golden Frieza, Jiren, and Top, and give them a real run for their money.

Goku

Goku becomes Super Saiyan 3

Goku is one of anime's strongest beings, by far. The mightiest warrior in Universe 7, Goku earns the respect of humans and deities alike. A prodigy in combat, he learned to fight from a young age, developing a strong love for the martial arts. Thanks to his restlessness and unwavering heart, Goku keeps pushing himself to the limits, and at one point his power even rivals that of the Gods of Destruction.

Goku might seem a tad too OP, and that could be true. However, it's hard to think of a character better suited to hold such power. After all, Goku's heart is as pure as they come.
