Many Dragon Ball Z fans enjoyed Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot simply because it allowed them to explore the world of Dragon Ball without any restrictions. That and the fact that it brought back so many obscure characters that superfans have been obsessing over since their minor appearances in the anime. Imaging side stories with all the one-off friends of Goku and pals expands the world beyond just the episodes, creating new possibilities for future Dragon Ball stories as time goes on. The expansion of the franchise seems endless, so it's nice that those possibilities always seem to be expanding as well.
