Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s first DLC, titled "New Power Awakens – Part 1," released in April and introduced characters and forms from the Battle of Gods movie and Dragon Ball Super, such as Beerus, Whis, and Goku and Vegeta’s Super Saiyan God forms. Players may not have to wait much longer for the next DLC, which may include Super Saiyan Blue.

With the return of Dragon Ball Super being delayed, fans of Dragon Ball are left to enjoy the series in video game form. There have been several games released since Dragon Ball Super’s July 2015 debut, such as Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 in 2016 and Dragon Ball FighterZ in 2018, but neither of them seem to compete with the acclaim of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. Despite the surprisingly low 2 million sold copies of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot as of March, the game has been well-received by fans. It's possible the first DLC may have helped sales since that initial count, though, and the addition of DLC 2 could result in even more.

While fans of the Dragon Ball franchise probably already assumed Super Saiyan Blue would be a part of the second Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot DLC, likely named "New Power Awakens – Part 2," leaks in Japanese magazine V-Jump (translated by DLC will not only include Super Saiyan Blue but also new moves for Goku and Vegeta, such as "Ultimate Galick Gun," "Ultimate Banish," "God Speed First," and "Ultimate Big Kamehameha." Japanese website Rokutya2089 may have also leaked new information about DLC 2, claiming a new "Crowd Battle" system will have players "Battle against a large number of enemies," with potentially "more than 100" attacking at once.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot DLC Part 2 Release Date Rumors

Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta Attack

Bandai Namco hasn’t officially revealed any information about Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s second DLC, but if rumors about Dragon Ball Super’s return are to be believed, the DLC may be coming soon. There is speculation that Dragon Ball Super could be returning as early as winter 2020. While it may be more likely for the show to return some time next year, it's possible, then, that "New Power Awakens - Part 2" and the Kakarot's free card game update could release by the end of the year.

If New Power Awakens - Part 1 is any indication of things to come, players can expect the next DLC to add more characters and continue the storyline from the Dragon Ball movie, Battle of Gods. Additionally, with the popularity of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, players could expect more DLC beyond a supposed "New Power Awakens – Part 2." There is still a lot of story that has yet to be told. If Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot continues to sell, players could see the Dragon Ball Super saga continue in-game. Maybe the stronger-than-Super-Saiyan Ultra Instinct form will make its Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot debut sooner rather than later. In the meantime, players can only wait in anticipation for the next DLC and Super Saiyan Blue.
